What a fantastic family pub. I visit on a fairly regular basis with my family and we all thoroughly enjoy ourselves everytime.

The pub have a range of animals in the garden areas that the children can enjoy and also a good play area with swings, slide and climbing frame.

I have always found the food to be excellent, the staff offer a great service and are very attentive if you need anything.

In terms of pricing, I think the Waggon have it spot on with both food and drinks. The pub attracts a decent clientele and I have introduced a number of friends and family to the pub and will continue to do so.

On a final note, I would say, we live in a world by where most people only ever review a pub/restaurant/Holiday when they have something negative to say. All I can say to anyone in that situation is - did you try to resolve the problem before hitting on the keyboard. (In most cases I would guess not). Personally, I am too busy to leave reviews normally and I would have to see excellent service more than once - The Waggon ticks the boxes and I can’t recommend the place highly enough.

Team Waggon I salute you!

We went to the Halloween party yesterday. It was excellent. My children had so much fun. The decorations looked brilliant, the food for the children was great value, especially as it was included in the ticket price. The activities kept them entertained for the whole three hours. There really was so much to do. They loved the disco at the end too. Thank you so much for organising it. Can't wait for the Christmas party.

User

We booked a table of 15 for Sunday lunch. Staff were all lovely, food was delicious, fresh and hot. What more can you ask for ??

User

I love this place the food and staff are amazing. Had beer battered cod last week was delicious. Tonight lamb chops cooked to perfection. If you want home cooked fresh food this is the place.

User

I frequently visit this pub due to my sister working there but I seem to look beyond that looking at the bigger picture I think the staff are great and it's well managed love the food and think it's great for all ages with a farm and play area for children including your own adult bit inside or out :)

User

Had the pate to start and the roast beef dinner . Food was delicious and our waitress Kim was more than helpful and very polite. Would definitely recommend this place to others and families with children as the small farm animals in the back garden is a lovely area for children .

User

Had roast pork and all the trimmings..... amazing left happy and full my son had hunters chicken....the best, those who criticises this pub it’s not a chain it’s an independent pub a few remaining.....thankyou for a great meal x

User

Had a family celebration here on Saturday. Ages ranged from 3-73. Excellent venue, food and service. The staff were so accommodating and friendly. Great for the children in the play park and for those who wanted to relax and sit down. Will certainly use this venue again.

User

Went to wagon for our girly Christmas meal last night. The food was lovely the service was good the staff were friendly. The music was fun. The only downside I think is that there was children running around and on the dance floor the whole time up until when we left probably around 11.which as much as I love children, I really don't want to spend an evening in a playground. Such ashame as the wagon is such a lovely venue it could really become a bit more upmarket.

User

Lovely staff . Great atmosphere kids loved the play area and animals . 2nd time at this establishment and I loved it. X food was great although there was scampi in my sons fries but it was just an error which was dealt with. I would defiantly recommend this place. In fact I’m thinking of doing a night here and we all live in Rochester x

I came here yesterday evening with a friend. It was our first visit here. First impressions on walking in was that in finding a seat there is little in the way of individual areas to sit relaxed in a country pub setting. Most of the pub is set out as a restaurant. There are two huge leather sofas that were being used by few people, it in my opinion the area would be better served with smaller fireside chairs in a couple of areas. Opposite the bar would be great for this too. We sat in the restaurant area which was comfortable but a bit chilly. Heating was on however and soon warmed. Had to go to the bar to order and the area didn’t have its own waiting staff. The barman was busy doing both and did well but if it was much busier we wouldn’t have been able to get his attention. My friend ordered soup, carrot and coriander, she enjoyed the taste but the consistency was almost a purée. Not enough juice to dip her baguette into. Also, the bowl was only half full in a not very large bowl so a bit disappointing considering the price. I ordered a special from the board, toad in the hole with fresh vegetables. The taste was homemade as described and the vegetables were fresh and tasty. The mashed potato given was more creamy than fluffy so it spread on the plate and there was very little of it. Again for the cost they could have been more generous. I also had to leave my table to go to the bar to ask for my gravy.

The one staff member we saw was friendly and polite and happy to advise around menu and specials board if a bit overstretched. Good friendly atmosphere here and was busy with regulars for mid week which is good to see for a independent pub. Lots is offered here and I would recommend and return. Hope my comments are taken on board and thank you. Not a bad first experience overall. Best wishes.

very nice we stayed in the Garden the weather was good the boys enjoyed the animals and the play equpitment . was made very welcome. did not have any food this time but will go back again to try it all looked very good .

User

The staff were friendly, the decor is a little drab, & would benefit from a good clean lots of dust around fire seating area. The menu is quite large witch makes me thing a lot of it must come from the freezer, there’s no way they can have that amount of fresh food, on the off chance someone orders it

User

Hair in the sweet chilli steak picking pot, croquettes were like granite, nachos were literally crumbs of tortilla chips with onion and cheese. Halloumi was alright. Might not bother with the mother's day booking that's advertised in lights...

User

Went saturday daughter's birthday treat. Food was burnt. Told waitress and she said chef said will take another hour or so to cook another. No refund offered. Cannot believe this was their reaction. Food was uneatable. They also have done away with taste card friday and sat and not updated the app. Ridiculous. I used to love this place but they need to get rid of chef and bring back taste card.

User

Visited today for my best friends birthday lunch. Went to get a drink first, ordered a jug of pimms which had 1 shot of pimms in and the rest lemonade for £11.95. We then ordered our food, one after the other, both with nachos for starters. One came out as a starter, the other came out 40 minutes later with the rest of the food, when we told the waitress it was supposed to be a starter we got a very rude “well she didn’t tell me that” and shrugged it off. Baring in mind we ordered one after the other and the first order was made clear it was as a starter so the other would have been as well.

We were sat outside and the umbrellas where just balanced on the floor so it kept falling over and hitting people.

When the food did finally come out, after waiting for 45-60 minutes all coming out at different times in different orders, one order was missing it’s chips which came out at the very end when he’d already eaten the rest of his meal, and my baguette had salad when I specifically asked for it to not have salad in it.

We asked on arrival for our birthday cake to be put in the fridge as it’s a hot day and the lady kindly said that was ok. When we came to get the cake out, it was melted so obviously wasn’t put in the fridge.

The food was mediocre and the service was terrible. Definitely will not be recommending!
