Warhammer - Reading

Afternoon
Today we have had some of are under 16’s down at the store learning how to paint there realm of battle boards ready armies on parade, if you looking for advice or help give the store a call to see how we can help! Myself and Dave have been thinking of project we can do for our parade grounds and coming up with some cool ideas but what’s everyones else’s plans.

So over the pond Warhammer citadel is opening! and they just showed off this tasty little morsel. well, who doesn't like toads.. troggoths do!

Evening all, its that's time of year again, Reading festival has kicked off and the town centre is awash with pox walkers.. All the more reason to retreat to a safe hobby centre for the weekend and play some games or paint some models. Why not test out kill team, or Middle earth strategy battle game. Oh and we have a little codex release too :p

We added more models to the display today, it's really taking shape now, why not pop in and get some ideas for #armiesonparade2018

To celebrate age of Sigmar night tomorrow I have started work on the next wave of my growing Clan Pestillence army. May I introduce the Undulant Scourge!

Armies on Parade is our yearly celebration of collecting Citadel miniatures, the perfect opportunity to build and paint a new army or finish off a project and show it off for all to see, if you would like to take part come speak to a member of staff for details or check out the website. Our parade day this years is October 13th along side our 30th anniversary of having a Warhammer shop in Reading so should be an awesome day.

Our Summer of War continues this week ( Only 2 weeks left). We are in full swing here on hobby night!! Lot of Warhammer 40,000 and kill team being played and lots of fun being had.
I posted a picture of sedge and dans Kill Team game as we are starting to get ready for our in store campaign which will be staring in September so be sure to pop in for advice or help on how to get your force ready or how to play.

Worth waiting for ....

Massive kill team game with deathwatch facing off against thousand sons and Space wolves in store today. Snapped a couple of picks with the Thousand sons picking up the W. First hobby evening of the week tomorrow and its Sigmar night! Looking forward to seeing some battles across the mortal realms and maybe my skaven will show up to play!

Next weeks advance orders have been brought into the light!

Harry's Orruks marched to war this morning while Liam blood angels took to the kill team table for the first time this morning. #citadelcrusader

We have had such a good summer of warhammer here. Check out Mike's beastclaw raiders that he has been working on! He has managed to fill out his activity card after purchasing soul wars and now has a host of goodies!. What have you all been working on? Let us know in the comments below!

Another busy #killteam night and another finished kill team. Aaron was so inspired by the might of the thousand sons that he re-enforced them ready for some games of warhammer 40,000

#killteam frenzy continues on our 2nd games night of the week. If you have not tried it yet come on down and have a go.

Went into the shop today with my 9 year old. Staff are amazing. Greg showed him how to make a model and paint it. He was even able to construct and paint a space marine. He then was shown and played the game with Greg. He is obviously hooked. Wanted to say a big thank you to the staff. You are amazing with kids. We are now busy saving up for the started kit.

Very helpful, very knowledgeable and very enthusiastic staff with a keen focus on ensuring every customer gets the most out of their visit. From those brand new and those as regular as myself.

Took my son to get some help and advice on painting . He thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would recommend . The guys working there know their stuff and are really passionate about what they do

I've been a customer since the days of the shop being based on Chatham Street, Love the atmosphere and the shop, even if just popping in for a quick question the guys are always smiling and happy to answer with different ideas, they have helped immensely with my painting and the standard is always increasing thanks to their help, keep up the great work guys

I have been thinking of getting into the hobby for several years and I went into the store to buy the starter set for 40K. When I got there I was greeted by Greg and he is phenomenal. Very very easy to talk to, very friendly and knows the hobby incredibly well.



I ended up buying the Dark Imperium Starter Set along with the £5 Magazine, spray paint and the £20 paint set to get me started. I was thinking of buying more, but the staff pointed out that if I do too much I'll burn out and I would enjoy it more if I took it at a slower pace - so they definitely do not push sales!



I struggled a bit with the painting and following Greg's advice, I decided to message the store on Facebook Messenger asking if they would be able to help me. Within 5 minutes, I got a reply (at 8am on a Sunday!) and then got booked in for someone to guide me through it at 11:30 the same day.



This is by far the best customer experience I have *ever* had with a store.

Had our first lesson in building, painting and gaming today. Couldn't have asked for a better teacher - thanks Greg!

Great staff, great store. Wonderful with my son, who's a hobby noob, and me, a gnarly old vet. Always a joy to visit.

Great shop very helpful staff no matter how many times I go in there there's always great advice and a smile to put you in the right direction.

First time I had been into a Games Workshop in 20 years. Staff were friendly, not pushy, obviously passionate about their games and armies. Will definitely be coming back

Excellent and friendly staff, my 7 year old was walked through construction, glueing, painting and playing the game. All he wants to do now is sit down and paint, previously we couldn't keep him still short of glueing him to something ourselves.! We will be returning.

Can’t fault these guys there so enthusiastic and really got my son into the game he talks all week about going down on Sunday and this week he took his cousin who also really enjoyed it and has started in the hobby to top place with top guys down there.

Cannot believe I haven't done a review of this place yet - great, knowledgeable, friendly staff that run a multitude of events and got me back into the hobby with the right mix of passion and enthusiasm. Just outstanding really and long may they reign!

Amazing staff - always helpful when a clueless mum (eg me) goes in to buy a surprise for her son. Really welcoming, very knowledgable - and so lovely with the (mainly teenagers) who go along. Thanks, Anne-Marie
