Warren Lodge Hotel

About Warren Lodge Hotel

The Warren Lodge Hotel, built in 1700 is located in Church Square, Shepperton. It has a riverside view and garden terrace, so is an ideal wedding venue.

Warren Lodge Hotel Description

The Warren Lodge Hotel is part of the Desborough Hotel Group which comprises of three individual hotels, conference and wedding venues.

The hotel started life as a private house and the oldest parts date from around 1700. However the most historic feature is the Mulberry Tree that dominates the garden. In the 16th century, Cardinal Wolsey, the then Lord Chancellor of England, rebuilt Hampton Court Palace, which sits a few miles downstream. He ordered that Mulberry Trees be planted along the Thames so that, in season, he could always partake of his favourite fruit as he made his way up and down the river.

Should you wish to host an event, the hotel caters for every kind of special occasion including weddings, lunch or dinner parties, christenings, funerals, birthday parties or any reason for family and friends to get together. The Garden room can host a seated meal for up to 70 guests or a buffet style party for up to 130 guests. The Garden room has the advantage that it opens out onto a beautiful Garden terrace with a fabulous heated awning. The Coach house can host a more intimate seated meal for up to 25 guests with a view of Church Square.

Please see our photo album for images of the hotel. Should you wish to use our venue for a function then please contact our Conference and Banqueting team, who will assist you from start to finish to ensure that your celebration is one to remember.

Good morning folks. It is a beautiful Saturday morning. Why not pop in for a cup of tea or coffee alcoholic drinks along side our bar and restaurant menus on our river terrace overlooking the River Thames.

User

We arrived Saturday, mid afternoon and the place was heaving, so difficulty parking the car. We eventually parked about 15 min walk away but being a hot, sunny afternoon the walk to hotel was pleasant. The staff were very helpful. Our room was large and clean, with a welcoming tea tray with selection of packets of biscuits and a fruit bowl, also bottled water. Finding this rare now in hotels so a big plus and thank you to Warren Lodge Our room was ground floor onto patio that was at edge of Thames. Quite and very pleasant. Hope to return some time as location very good.

User

Very welcoming staff. Lovely rooms with tea /coffee making facilities, complementary toiletries. Beds very comfortable. Good meals. Beautiful location by the river. Will definitely make Warren lodge booking again.

User

The hotel was absolutely lovely, the rooms were comfortable, clean & well equipped, the food from the restaurant was very yummy & definitely going back. The hotel also backs onto the river Thames with a veranda that you can sit on & enjoy a drink, especially if the sun is shining. Thank you Warren Lodge Hotel for a lovely stay

User

The company I work for book this hotel regularly for colleagues working away from home. Even though it's been a while since I last stayed, the staff remembered me and treated me like I'd never been away..even remembered that I only like green olives!! Food was great, service was excellent and the river location in the September sun was gorgeous. Thank you all for a very nice week.

User

Slightly dated but absoutely lovely. As mentioned the parking is difficult but we were lucky to find spaces right outside the hotel. Wonderful location for the price and the views are fabulous. Rooms were warm bit opened windows ans slept well. The absolute pinnacle was the wonderful restaurant which served great burgers and pizzas for teenagers but also very high quality 'adult' meals for a very reasonable price (Hoki fillet and green lipped mussels werw fantastic) 10 minutes from Thorpe Park - great. Thanks

User

Lovely hotel but the staff here make this place what it is !! Can't do enough for you and there is a girl on reception didn't catch her name but she is awesome !! Like a holiday rep!! 6 stars from me

I arrived at this hotel after a difficult day when my plane from Edinburgh spent 5 hours on the tarmac, missing my connection . I then got news in the taxi that my ill mother whom I had been visiting had taken an unexpected turn for the worse and was in her last hours. Not surprisingly I was an emotional wreck. There was a loud Xmas party going on I had difficulty finding my room and angrily demanded a refund. The staff were fabulous and couldn't have been kinder. They were not defensive but did remind me of the season. This allowed common sense to prevail.

Other reviewers have also commented on the staff - they are exceptionally helpful and kind and the setting - when I was able to see it is wonderful.

As an example although the kitchen was closed I was shown out to have take out delivered. I was also introduced to another Heathrow refugee and ended up with a wonderful evening as a bright spot in a difficult weekend. I would go there again out of choice.

User

Great little hotel.

We were made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived. Rooms were nice and spacious and contained a kettle so enough said.

The dinner in the hotel was great. The pizza was better than pizza express which isn’t that hard to beat really is it. 🤣. I would definitely stay again.

User

Amazing place, food 5*, river is beautiful, staff were 100%, We are looking to 're book within the next couple of weeks, fantastic evening away.

User

Very friendly staff in an old style, quiet hotel on the river in Shepperton old square. Lovely room with river views. Unfortunately, in the room we were given, we got a rude awakening each morning by a noise which we never managed to track down (possibly plumbing in an overhead room). Walking distance to Shepperton. Would stay again, but not in that room!

User

This hotel was fantastic from the staff to the cleanliness of the room!!! My only complaint was the parking!!! I was supposed to stay there for a further 3 days on my own after my husband left, apparently there are only 12 parking spots for the whole hotel!!!! There is a public car park up the road however it is a fair walk in the dark at night, So this was out of the question and I had to check out 3 days early and find alternative accomodation!! Just be aware when it states free parking, it is SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY!!! And the availability is very low due to lots of business conferences!!

User

Nice spacious room on the ground floor, although the mattress a bit soft for me I slept well. Lovely breakfast, the downsides were car parking although we were very lucky to find a space right outside the door. We were there for a party and some of the other guests had to hunt for parking spaces. A very lively little square. The carpets in the corridors are very threadbare and need urgent replacement but didn't detract from our stay there.

User

Lovely old style hotel (prefer this to somewhere really modern!). Good sized room, clean and comfortable. Staff very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was extremely lovely, fresh fruit, pastries and a full English! Only reason I didn't give the hotel 5 stars was due to the nightmare parking, nowhere near enough available parking for 2 hotels and a pub! My partner ended up having to park our car on the main high street and walk back to the hotel. Other than that we had a lovely stay!

User

Good value for money, and a lovely little hotel. Breakfast was good, rooms were clean and tidy, although very hot even though it was only March and lovely views out the back. Worst thing is the parking, unless you have something no bigger than a Twingo you are going to be nervous negotiating the very tight car park, and there are limited spaces. Probably could do with a few quid spending on it, carpets on the stairs are threadbare and furniture in the rooms is very dated but functional. Doubt anyone else will be lucky enough to be served by 'Manuels apprentice' though as he told us he doesn't normally work there, the disaster that was him making a latte will live on in legend amongst our group.

User

Fantastic location, worth paying to upgrade your room.

User

Excellent value for money! Highly recommendable. The view from the river terrace is very soothing.

User

Beautiful local in the centre of leafy Surrey on the Thames river in Shepperton. A small town brimming with character and good eateries. Shepperton is famous for its historic association with the British film industry and for being one of the towns where old and new city money coexist with ease. There is a small marina behind the hotel on a quiet part of the River. The food on offer in its restaurant is delicious even if the menu is slightly limited. Parking might be a problem on busy summer nights as the car park is small and its next door to a popular pub. You can use the car park in the Anchor pub across the road if necessary. The room I had was clean and comfortable but lacked an air con unit.

Overall a very enjoyable stay. Recommend.

User

Nice clean room lovely view, very nice friendly staff.Henry was a delightful character couldn’t do enough for us.we had dinner here.dont be put off by the dated decor.the food was really good.good nights sleep.

User

The staff were really lovely and the location of the hotel on the river bank was delightful. My room on the top floor had river views, however, I was plagued by ladybirds which were on the ceiling, windows and the bed. A couple dead on the floor and one dropped on my head when I was sat up in bed. I had no hot water the first morning of a three night stay. I was told I just needed to run it longer for the hot to come through. Having had a cold shower after running the shower and handbasin for a while I don't think that was the problem. It was fine and there within a minute on the following mornings. The carpets on the stairs and hallway were threadbare. I was due to stay three weeks but have moved elsewhere, mainly due to parking. It is constantly on your mind when due to head back to the hotel whether there will be a parking spot and such a relief if one was found. The dinners were tasty, enjoyable. Breakfast was a disappointment. Out of 6 poached eggs over 3 breakfasts only 2 were soft. Bacon was excellent. I asked for mushrooms and got 1 on one morning, and 2 the next. Not the extra large flat ones either.
