Thousands of actual real paper books and a comfy cafe with vegan cake options - what's not to like?! Plus very lovely staff, creative displays, quirky staff book reviews... I always discover new interesting writers or publications when I'm browsing, so their choice of stock is pretty impressive and diverse for my eclectic taste. Bought a book on some great walks in the South Downs.

The best shop in the whole of Commercial road . A jewel in an otherwise awful highstreet ....

Sitting in the cafe of the newly-refitted Waterstones Portsmouth seriously impressed! The shop feels much bigger and the cafe is amazing. Well worth a visit!

Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, fresh tasty food, child friendly and good coffee! A little haven away from the hectic-ness of Commercial Road.

My daughter and I meet there every week and think of it as our place. There is a lovely friendly atmosphere and all the food and drink is reasonably priced. The cafe has attracted an eclectic mix of clientele and I hope things never change.

Loads of books and bios that I like to read of the people I'm into and like its also very peaceful in water stones and you can relax 😀

I popped into the cafe today quite late and was pleasantly surprised at not only the reasonable prices for tea and lemon muffin but also the very warm welcome, comfortable surroundings and great background music :-)

I love Waterstones cafè. I love it even more as they have recently started to serve delicious vegan cakes. A lovely atmosphere and the staff are just so warm & friendly. A lovely place to go on your own or to meet with friends. I visit often.

A lovely gem of a cafe! Wholesome food, reasonable prices and really friendly staff. With its relaxing ambience and array of intriguing reading material this is my favourite place to take a breather when in Commercial Road. Would highly recommend a visit. Just what Waterstone's needed!

Lovely place to have a tea or a coffee. Quiet , but disappointed they've put their prices up for a mug of tea from just £1 to £1.90 . Quite a big hug in fact nearly 100% price increase. I am a regular there and there have a reward card as well .
