Agnes was among the first women to join Watoto Neighbourhood when it launched in 2008. For the first time in her life, she received an #education and she thrived learning #business skills.
In Agnes’ hands, her first chicken was #multiplied into more chickens, which she sold for a goat, which then became a herd of cows. With the money she earned, she has been able to buy land, many animals and build a house and a small shop.
To her children and grandchildren Agnes is a #rolem...odel who is doing everything she can to give them a bright future.

Today Maxwell is turning 12! 🎉🎈🎊
Rescued as a baby, Maxwell was welcomed into his Watoto family with loving arms. He enjoys spending time with his mother and siblings in Watoto’s Bbira village and like many boys his age, he loves playing football and anything to do with music - singing, listening and dancing to it.
When he grows up, Maxwell dreams of becoming a pilot. While it may be a few years before that happens, he got the opportunity to fly on a plane when he travelled t...o the UK and Netherlands as part of the Watoto Children’s Choir.
On tour, he was also able to share his amazing dance skills and powerful story with many crowds. We are so thankful Maxwell was found almost 12 years ago, and we can’t wait to see all that God has in store for him.
Happy Birthday Max!!

At Watoto we believe that the best way to #RebuildANation is by educating children and raising them as #FutureLeaders to positively impact society. Today on #WorldYouthSkillsDay we want to share Mark & Andrew's story with you—twins who were rescued and raised by Watoto.
Andrew shares, "We’ve grown up happy and feel that our Watoto family is a miracle. They have given us love, an education, provision and a future."
As kids, Mark and Andrew travelled together on the Watoto Chi...ldren’s Choir and even performed for Her Majesty the Queen. They’ve had incredible opportunities in life and look forward to attending university in the near future.
Andrew wants to pursue a career in Marketing, and Mark wants to study Economic Development. “Being where I am today makes me feel that God has a plan for me—from the rubbish pit, to a person of influence”, Mark shares.
“I believe Watoto is a platform of hope for vulnerable children, just like us. Mark and I are proof that they’re rescuing and raising future leaders”, Andrew added.
We are so grateful to all of our sponsors for making dreams come true for kids like Mark and Andrew. Thank you for your faithful love and support!

Mercy is a sweet little girl that brightens any room with her smile! During the tour she gained a lot of confidence as she stood in front of many audiences to share her incredible story:
"I don't know who my parents are. I was told that I was abandoned as a baby, but today I am 7 years old! I know that my identity is in Jesus. No matter what the past looks like, know that God loves us and He has a plan for our lives and He will never leave us."
With the loving attention of he...r nanny, Mercy thrived at #BabyWatoto and when she was old enough, she became part of a loving Watoto #family in one of our villages.
Mercy is an active girl who likes to play with her friends and brothers and sisters. Mercy is receiving a quality education at a Watoto school and goes to the Watoto Church with her Mama every Sunday.
We are so #grateful to all our sponsors for providing babies and children like Mercy with a bright future, full of hope! We could never do what we do without your incredible support.

No matter how our lives begin, each of us has a God-given #purpose. When we rescued Baby Azriel, we also rescued his future #hopes and #dreams. We are excited to see what he will grow up to do—what songs he will write, diseases he will cure, people he will help.
This is what sponsorship does, it gives love and hope to the over 1,400 babies we have rescued together so far. Because of your support they now have a chance to grow up and make this world a better place. Thank you for the impact you are making in the lives of babies like Azriel. We couldn’t do this without you!

As you start your week, remember that God is our Way Maker, Strong Tower & Redeemer! #MotivationMonday #Tusiimye
"See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland."
"The name of the LORD is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe."
... "This is what the Lord says—your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go."

Meet future astronaut Peter!
Peter's favourite subject in school is science and he loves basketball, volleyball, football, singing and dancing. If you have seen him perform, you will know he has a lot of energy and always gives his best!
When we asked Peter what he liked about being on tour, he told us he loves sharing his story and God's word and he likes travelling. His favourite places to visit in the UK were Jersey and Guernsey. We expected it to be because of the beache...s, but he said "the people there were lovely" 😍
We believe Peter is lovely too and we are sure that with his amazing attitude, good education and the support of his sponsors he has a bright future ahead!

Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary, and His understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.
Isaiah 40:28-29

#InternationalWidowsDay The loss of a partner is in itself devastating, but for many women around the world, that loss is magnified by a long-term struggle for basic needs, human rights and dignity after their husband passes away.
Widows are often denied inheritance rights to the piece of land that they relied on for livelihood, evicted from their homes or forced into unwanted marriages or traumatizing widowhood rituals.
"They are stigmatised for life, shunned and shamed. And..., many of these abuses go unnoticed, even normalised." (UN)
Likewise, Regina's life was very difficult for many years after her husband passed away. As a mother of six she struggled to provide for her family. When she eventually heard about #WatotoNeighbourhood her life changed.
Regina started receiving business skills training and was being equipped to be a leader in her family and her community. She was able to start a small business in her neighbourhood and is now able to provide for herself and her family.
There are thousands of women like Regina right in our community, who don't need a handout, but a hand up. Will you help us restore dignity and empower these beautiful women of God?

Thank you for helping us restore #dignity to vulnerable women like Vicky.
As a mother of four, Vicky used to struggle to provide for herself and her children. With very little skills, she wasn’t able to earn enough money for food, rent or to send her kids to school.
But because of your generosity, life changed for Vicky. She was welcomed into #Watoto and given #love, #discipleship and training in #tailoring. She learned how to make dolls and stuffed animals that are sold arou...nd the world with our #WatotoChildrensChoir.
Vicky proudly shares that with the skills and income she’s acquired, now all of her children eat well and are able to attend #school. That’s something to #celebrate!

"What I liked most about being on tour is singing and dancing and seeing people give their life to Christ. I also liked playing in the host homes and talking with the host families."
Maria's favourite subject in school is art and when she grows up she wants to become a fashion designer. We can't wait to see some of the amazing items she will create!
Thank you for loving and supporting Watoto. Because of you children like Maria now have a bright future and great chance in life...!

Today, we want to celebrate the fathers in our Watoto family and all the men who feed into the lives of our children, like coach David.
“I love being a part of the children’s lives. Just recently, I was able to share my story with the kids that I’m also an orphan. They were inspired to know that I had the same background as them, but that I’d done something really good with my life. I think we’re really showing them the love and acceptance that a father would show, and it’s a... real privilege,” shared Coach David.
Across Watoto we’re seeing the positive impact of sports. Our coaches are true mentors to our kids, helping them develop their talent in sports, their character and their leadership abilities.
We are so grateful to our coaches, and to you—our family across the globe—for ensuring our kids receive the love and nurturing they deserve. Thank you!

We want to thank all our lovely host homes for inviting the choir into your hearts and homes this year!!
"We hosted auntie Gloria with Babra, Joy and Christine and while they were grateful, I think they gave us more in all sense than we gave to them. I miss them so much and I would love to see how their lives develop in the future."
