The last of our photos as we bid farewell to Cyprus.
We have spent 10 days on the island training personnel from 165 Regt who have never dived before to BSAC Ocean Diver. They leave with an internationally recognised qualification and have also completed all the necessary prerequisite diving to allow them to start their BSAC Sports Diver training.
... The more advanced divers who came to instruct and act as safety divers were able to buddy up and do some very interesting diving on the wreck of the Zenobia that lies in 42m of water.
We were able to do the Exped completely 'in house', all the supervisors, instructors and support divers came from the ranks of 165 Regt ¤æī¤śā

Lovely to say farewell to one of our civil servants today after 42 years service - they donŌĆÖt get a medal, but my word some of them deserve one. Take care Sue!

Diving one of the top ten shipwrecks in the world.....The ZENOBIA.
Our students are now fully qualified BSAC Ocean Divers so we have spent the last two days exploring the zenobia. The Ocean Divers are restricted to the top of the wreck, or in actual fact the starboard side as she is laying on her port, whilst the more qualified divers have been exploring her deeper treasures. Her vehicle decks still hold the lorries and their cargo, some hanging by their l...ashing chains after nearly 40 years underwater.
A good description of the Zenobia dive site can be found here: https://www.cyprusdivingadventures.com/ŌĆ ”/zenobia-wreck-diveŌĆ”

Ex Dhekelia Dip - Day 2
We moved into the sea today around Dhekelia Jetty. Quite fittingly for members of a Port and Maritime Regt, the jetty was built to load/unload two landing ships or four landing craft, what better place for two Port Operators to have their first dive in the sea instructed by a Mariner who operated landing craft out here in Cyprus
