4 Paws Hydrotherapy Centre Ringwood Description

4 Paws Hydrotherapy Centre houses a large heated pool and an Aquatic Treadmill. The centre not only offers hydrotherapy, but also Acupuncture and Physiotherapy.

Hydrotherapy has been proven to assist in the rehabilitation of dogs and cats and is also a safe, fun form of exercise which helps to improve your pets health, mobility and fitness.

Some of the conditions that can benefit from hydrotherapy include:
Hip and Elbow dysplasia.
Cruciate Ligament injuries.
Luxating Patella.
Spondylosis.
Obesity
Soft Tissue injuries.
Neurological conditions such as Degenerative Myelopathy.
Swimming for fun and fitness.

At 4 Paws Hydrotherapy centre, the welfare and safety of your dog or cat is our main priority, therefore a qualified hydrotherapist will be in the pool with them at all times. This will initially help them relax and it enables the hydrotherapist to monitor their range of motion and help them get the maximum benefit from each session whether it is for pre-operative, post-operative or for fitness.

The adorable Benji came in this morning for his second puppy swim which he thoroughly enjoyed!

And the fastest swimmer out of Summer and Teddy is ...........looks pretty close to us - they both love their regular swims with us.

User

Summer swims with us regularly following surgery to repair a torn cruciate ligament.
She has now fully recovered from the surgery and continues to have fortnightly maintenance sessions to keep the muscle mass in her hind legs strengthened.
Her least favourite part about the session is having to rest - she pushes her nose under Tori’s arm each time and cries to try and get swimming again as quickly as possible!

Here is 10 month old Maximus enjoying his session this afternoon. He’s going to be a big boy as he already weighs a whopping 61 Kilos!

These 2 are mother & son, both off to Crufts next year so getting fit with regular swims. Beautiful markings......:-)

Bertie took to the pool like a natural today!
He’s never been swimming properly before so he surprised us all!
Well done Bertie! 💦

Tori and her partner James completed The Muddy Dog Challenge last month with Ted and Alfie in order to raise money for Battersea Dogs and Cats home. The challenge involved running 5 kilometres through muddy obstacles.
We would like to say a huge thank you to everybody who donated, they raised over £160 in total!

User

Out of all the toys she could choose from in the pool, Heidi’s favourite is a plastic milk carton! 🤣💦

User

Here’s Ralph enjoying his fortnightly swim with us. The fish toy he usually swims with died but luckily he approved of the new ones! 💦

We think this is the first dog called "Poncho" we have had at the centre and we've had thousands of dogs here over the last 3.5 years. Poncho is 12, a gorgeous boy, who loves his swimming

Please support Tori & help raise lots of money - we wish them luck 🤞
Ted & Alfie are taking part in the Muddy Dog Challenge this Saturday. They are raising money for Battersea Dogs & Cats Home by completing the run with their hoomans (Hydrotherapist Tori and her partner James). They will be completing obstacles throughout the run and getting very muddy!

Yesterday we had a different type of four legged friend visit 4 Paws.
In May, unfortunately Bert was hit by a car he and fractured his left sacrum. Following surgery to repair this, he was unable to use the leg properly and he would drag it behind him when walking.
Tasha has been seeing Bert for physiotherapy treatment for the past 6 weeks and he is now able to use his left hind again but there is still a lot of muscle wastage there. So with his owner they decided that hydro...therapy would benefit him to help strengthen his left hind leg.
Yesterday Bert had his first session in the pool and he took to it very well!

Amy and Sarah from Pinpoint Veterinary Care popped in to have a look at our facilities and meet us this morning.
They offer a range of different therapies at their centre such as Lazer Therapy, Acupuncture and Physical Rehabilitation.
On the 30th August, they are holding a talk for pet owners on The different options for the treatment of pain in dogs. This will be held at their centre in Cranbourne. Find the times and more information on their page!

A couple of our lovely visitors to hydro on this rather wet afternoon! Just look at the blurry tail wag on Wilkie & who doesn't love those ears on 8 month old Max 😊

Monty is a superstar!
He has been visiting us twice per week for 2 months to help loose some weight and in that time he has lost over 4.5 kilos!
As a result of this his quality of life has improved and he is now able to jump up on the sofa again!
... Well done Monty!

This handsome boy is Otto - he will be 2 years old on Friday. He has an undiagnosed hind limb lameness so hopefully working in the aquatic treadmill will be beneficial.
