If anyone fancies a night out ...

Would you like to get a little more active and meet new people? Are you unsure about how to take the first step?
Why not kick off your weekend with a social #runandtalk?
On the first Friday evening of each month, Abbey Flyers have a Run and Talk session. We meet at 6pm outside of The Riverside Community Centre. The sessions are aimed at all types of runners - from the newbie, to the returner, to the experienced runner. We will run a short lap of the town - with as many walk breaks as needed - and finish with a social get together at The Smoking Dog.

With a forecast of 22 degrees, it’s looking a lot like it’s going to be a tad warmer than other races we’ve done at this time of year ... in zero degrees 😂😬😱 📷: Sarah W Kirsty C
It’s going to be an Easter Egg melter ...

Anyone fancy this?

No running club this evening ... although there is nothing to stop you getting out to enjoy the sun 😊

Another running related talk as part of Swindon Literature Festival. Not sure if the Freedom Parkrun will also happen.

A fantastic run this morning in the spring sunshine. Made all the more enjoyable with one of Louise’s awesome cakes (not much left to show ... it was lush and SO pretty). A big shout out to Frank who we duped into running 16 miles ... further than he has run since some time in the 1980s ... will he be tempted to join marathon fever?

Hello Spring - with the Spring Equinox yesterday and the prospect of the clocks changing next weekend, it truly does feel as though spring is in the air. If you haven’t been out for a while, maybe it’s time to dust off those trainers and get some miles in. Look forward to seeing you out running with us soon x

We are really looking forward to a laugh and a tipple or two on Saturday. Still a couple of tickets left - so get in there quickly if you want a good night out.

Our friends at Gemini Outdoor are acting as ambassadors for the forthcoming Run Fest at Bowood. This means that they have some exciting preferential ticket info. Please follow Gemini Outdoor and/or Steve Ellis in order to find out the details for what sounds like a really epic event.

Two brilliant ladies who really know their stuff and are incredibly supportive would recommend to anyone!!

User

These guys are amazing! Full of knowledge and so much fun. I highly recommend!

User

Ten weeks ago I couldn't have run a bath. Now I'm about to run my first 5k. Stacie and Kate are amazing. If you think Forrest Gump couldn't stop running you should see these two. You're never too old to start running! If I can start at 30* then you can start at any age!

*might be a lie.

User

Really great group with lots of laughs. Both running and kettle-bells will test your ability and are great fun. For all level, from zero to hero, these guys will get you on the path to fitness or push you on to that next level. Don't hesitate and join up!

User

Kate and Stacie are the most inspirational, positive, and crazy people I have ever met! They will support you throughout any challenge - whether it is to get fit, run a 5k, half marathon, full marathon... Fast runners will be challenged and slower runners will not be left behind. They have supported me throughout my marathon training and provided lots of entertainment during training runs! Couldn't recommend highly enough to anyone.

User

Kate & Stacie will support you through anything! They will push you and challenge you to your own limits as they get to know each & every one in their classes. Every week there are laughs and every class, whether it be running or kettle bells is enjoyable and so much fun, although they will more than likely hurt you! In a good way They are the most supportive, nutty, amazing, creative trainers you will ever meet & work with. They have become more than just trainers, they are friends that are always there when you need them for advice. All round AMAZING

User

I was invited to run with the abbey flyers this morning. Certainly looks like a professional setup, by a lovely bunch of ladies, who offer something for everyone. If your thinking of starting to run, join the abbey flyers. Great resource of knowledge, and enthusiasm.

User

I came to Abbey Flyers an unfit, menopausal, overweight woman. Two years down the line, I'm fitter than I ever have been and have dropped a dress size. Stacie and Kate are incredibly patient and knowledgeable about their subject and have helped me at every stage of my journey. The crew are very inclusive and we have a real laugh, but work really hard as well. Can't rate them highly enough. Thank you so much.

User

Here on holiday for a few days and wanted to run with a group as I didn’t know where to run. Really friendly group and they cater for all abilities. Recommended if you’re looking to start out from the couch or are already a keen runner.
