DP World operates the UK’s second largest container terminal within the Port of Southampton, which handles just under half of the UK’s deep sea trade with the Far-East.
The Port of Southampton is the UK’s busiest cruise port with four dedicated cruise terminals handling over 1. 2 million passengers per year.
Southampton is a leading port for roll-on /roll-off vehicle imports and exports, including commercial cars and high and heavy plant equipment.
Bulk cargo is also transported through the port, such as grain, glass and scrap metal.
The port houses the UK’s only import terminal for fresh produce directly from the Canary Islands (mostly tomatoes).

A busy day at the port today for automotive - we have 6 RoRos in the Eastern Docks.
It is an incredibly busy day at the port today. Not only do we have the exciting maiden call for Celebrity Edge but we have 3 other cruise ships alongside - Aida Perla, Crown Princess and Aurora.
We also have three RoRo vessels in the Eastern Docks...busy busy!
Very excited to welcome Celebrity Edge to the port this morning on her maiden call and to mark the beginning of her European showcase.
We're looking forward to welcoming the latest addition to the Celebrity Cruises fleet to Europe's leading cruise turn-around port on Monday. #celebrityedge is on her way to the Port of Southampton!

Cruise season has well and truly begun here at Europe's leading cruise turn around port with 13 cruise ships calling over the next week.

Congratulations to ABP Team Spirit who took part in the gruelling 125-mile Devizes to Westminster Canoe Race this Easter to raise money for Different Strokes Southampton (our 2019 charity of the year).
Every member of ABP Team Spirit pushed themselves to the limit throughout the race, battling on despite the heat and gave their all to the challenge. With aching shoulders, elbows, wrists and no sleep, the team used their months of training to pull together and overcome the ups... and downs along the way.
Despite the relentless heat, two boats out of the five from Team Spirit managed to reach around the 100-mile mark. Against the odds, two boats managed to achieve the ultimate goal and cross the finish line just downstream of Westminster Bridge, opposite the Houses of Parliament in London.
The grand total is yet to be announced but the team is very close to reaching their fundraising target of £10,000 to support Different Strokes Southampton.
Huge congratulations to all the ABP Team Spirit challengers for their tremendous effort, hard work and commitment.

Throughout the event, ABP Team Spirit will have to push their way through approximately 90,000 paddle strokes so this will be a severe test of physical and mental strength and stamina that will push the team to their limits.
