User

Wonderful location with spectacular views across the a River Severn. We were lucky to be there for The Bore. Service is second to none with all staff friendly, courteous, efficient and welcoming. The food is amazing, freshly cooked and loads of it. It's just how a pub should be. Go and give it a try you won't be disappointed!

User

What a place and what a team of staff! Friendly, attentive and personal despite being busy and full to the brim with punters on a lovely summers afternoon in Epney. The steak was quite simply the best I have had in a long time and the vegetarian options varied. Spot on and thank you

User

We have just had a fabulous roast!!! It is, without doubt, the best roast I have had in a pub! Cooked to perfection and with that wonderful "home cooked" taste that many others lack!! We had a table upstairs - wow, what a view!! Definitely recommend!! Thank you to all staff!!

User

We found this pub purely by chance and what a find. We had Sunday lunch and it was beautiful. Will definitely be back. Well worth the drive from Bristol

User

We discovered the Anchor about 18 months ago and have been regular visitors ever since,It is a great old fashioned country pub with a sporting theme full of Jack Russell cricket prints in the lounge and Gloucester Rugby pictures in the snug bar.The setting is truly wonderful on the banks of the Severn where at certain times the Severn Bore can be observed to great advantage. The real Ales are popular but without doubt the main attraction is the excellent home cooked food. There is a typical Pub menu but the minted lamb chops and the choice of numerous potato accompaniments deserve special mention,You are guaranteed a friendly welcome at this delightful location.David and Ann

User

Very welcoming, great atmosphere and food.

User

Traditional pub with good hearty food, cold pints and a fantastic view, staff are always welcoming and service is speedy

User

Quite possibly the best Sunday Roast in the area....very much like the one your Granny would cook! (Yes, that good!)

We had a super meal yesterday, delicious, very generous helpings & very reasonably priced. Lovely atmosphere too with friendly & welcoming staff. All round very successful & we'd highly recommend The Anchor Inn. Can't wait to go back again! Congratulations to you all....You're doing a fab job so keep doing what you're doing. Without hesitation this place scores a 5 out of 5!!

User

Perfect place for a summers evening and real “pub grub”

User

Perfect local pub on a summer evening. Stunning River Severn sunset view, plus May Hill and The Malverns with friendly staff and perfect scampi & chips basket meal :)

User

Love the place.Been here probably about a hundred times over last 10 years.Held about a dozen special occasions here aswell as meals whenever we feel like going out locally.Never ever had a single bad experience.Food is awesome, all staff are great, place is always welcoming and service very good.Cannot find fault anywhere, will keep coming and recommend everyone else does too.

User

It's what a pub should be....no airs no graces just a darn good pub without 'gastro' without 'pretentiousness '...oh....and....the Faggots are local legends

User

Had a really nice evening in a lovely friendly pub, will definitely be returning soon.

User

Great location. Lovely food. Huge portions. Friendly staff. Basically this place ticks every box. Not a super trendy gastro pub but a hidden gem showing others how its done!

User

Genuinely shocked at the negative review below.... super pub, fantastic owners.... great pub food and a superb location!

As someone who works in retail it's always disappointing to get a bad, faceless review via the Internet... no business wants or does anything detrimental on purpose so give them a chance to address your issues face to face at the time. I really hope that people are not put off by that poor review as it's a fab pub!

User

Definitely worth a visit if your looking for Fantastic food and service in an idyllic setting.

User

Very friendly staff and great value Sunday Roast. Tasted yummy and just like homemade.

User

Always been a great pub to visit on a gorgeous sunny day, I only had a drink with my 85 year old dad but plenty of people enjoying food and the service looked second to none, will definitely be taking dad back for some food next time,
