Pallida perfection πππΏπ
Good morning β
Smoky tones of Hylotelephium 'Jose Aubergine' and Nepeta nuda 'Romany Dusk' working well together on another hot summer day π₯
Before and after: 7 weeks ago, 8 more of our trial beds were planted up by different garden designers using Arvensis plants. We are pleased to report that all the beds are establishing well and there are some lovely combinations beginning to emerge! π
@g1obegardens @gillespies_llp @duncanstoboarmstrong @earthmark_gd @kennedysongdusoir @chloewoodgardendesign @guilfoyleannie @johnthegardener
Rob, Gussy and Marina would like to introduce Eliza, the latest addition to the Arvensis team, born on Monday π
Love the colour and graceful shape of these 5ft tall Hemerocallis 'Keulenfalter' flowers. A rare cultivar only registered in 2012. Like other daylilies, keeping them well-watered before and during flowering will maximize the number and quality of flowers π
Echinacea pallida 'Hula Dancer' (the white form of pallida) being to unfurl in @alisonjenkinslandscapes trial bed. The single plant in the last pic has nigh on 40 flowers waiting to open! π€© All set for a scorching hot weekend here π₯
Astilbe chinensis var. taquetii 'Purpurlanze' grows to 1.2m tall and more and has excellent winter structure. Best in moist fertile soil, but more drought tolerant than other astilbes and good in part shade π
Briza media, Euphorbia niciciana, Melica ciliata, Penstemon strictus π
Bee and pyramidal orchids growing outside the polytunnels
Nepeta sibirica 'Souvenir d'AndrΓ© Chaudron' aka 'Blue Beauty', quite different from more common species of catmint
That's another one of our trial beds planted! Many thanks @guilfoyleannie - a super selection of plants
More of these super foxgloves that migrated their way into this bed all on their own, plus Verbascum blattaria, Oenothera odorata and Trifolium ochroleucum π
Nursery looking π€©π€© this evening
Lovely Penstemon strictus, Briza media, Digitalis lutea and Amsonia 'Blue Ice' in our trial bed designed and planted in Oct 2017 by @alisonjenkinslandscapes π
Monarda bradburiana with mixed foxgloves π
Also looking fab now..Libertia grandiflora and Chaerophyllum hirsutum 'Roseum' or Rosy chervil π
The smell of Osteospermum foliage = childhood in Africa πΏπΌπΏπ¦
