Cats display ‘newism’: if you feed them a new diet, they’ll eat more than normal, giving the impression that they like it more. Gradually, however, they’ll revert to normal often giving the impression that they’re bored!

This is Darwin’s second treatment with the K-Laser and he’s doing very well! It doesn’t hurt at all and he seems to be enjoying it! He will have a total of three sessions this week, 2 next week, one the next and then monthly laser sessions thereafter.

The ‘growth phase’ is the time in a puppy’s life when feeding the correct diet is most important. Their immune system, social behaviour, skeleton and joints are developing and it is vital that they’re fed the right diet to ensure they reach their full potential. Dietary needs can vary according to the size of the pet. Larger breeds take longer to reach their adult weight than smaller breeds. For an accurate estimate of when it’s time for your puppy to move to a junior or adult diet, please ask your vet or nurse.

Did you know we have a K-Laser at our Ashford hospital? Here’s Darwin who belongs to our nurse Ruth, having his laser treatment for osteo-arthritis! It can be used for a wide range of conditions from arthritis, wound healing, chronic pain, fractures, traumas, dermatitis, burns and recovery from surgery. It works by stimulating the body’s healing mechanisms and can achieve improved healing times, pain reduction, increased circulation and decrease swelling! It’s painless and most pets find the experience pleasant and can be done in a matter of minutes. We will be soon be running a Laser clinic at Hythe on Monday’s so get in touch if you think your pet could benefit from this treatment!
