So here's something that you may or may not know about Younique. I'm guilty of NOT talking about it enough. But the purpose and mission behind this company is very near and dear to my heart тЭдтЭдтЭд
Here's the reality: 1 in 4 girls are sexually abused before they reach age 18. Raped, taken advantage of, shamed, their innocence destroyed. One out of every four women you know has experienced this atrocity. I have about 1,000 friends on Facebook, roughly 800 of which are women. That... means that about 200 of you reading this had something like this happen to you. TWO HUNDRED.
And there's more. I have a daughter who is six years old. In her eyes the world is perfect, and innocent, and pure (just like her) but the scary thing is, unknown to her, something happened to a school friend who has since moved away & my heart breaks every time she asks after them but I can't tell her & take away her innocence ЁЯШнЁЯШнЁЯШнЁЯШн
Because of that, more than anything, this is a BIG deal to me. And it should be a big deal to you - because it means that odds are, someone you love has experienced this too.
The facts: We have two charitable branches, The Younique Foundation and the Defend Innocence project. The Foundation raises money for survivors - treatment services, counseling, retreats where they are made to feel whole and loved and important again, at no cost to the survivor. The Defend Innocence project educates YOU - to make sure that your babies don't face the same fate. Both programs are open to anyone. You do not need to be a presenter or even a customer to get help.
There's more: As a company, we don't just contribute "some of the time" or in a month with a catchy slogan. Every single day, your purchases fund these efforts. When you shop from me or any other Younique presenter, every single purchase carries the opportunity to help one of those children or women. We raise more than $40,000 a month solely from customer purchases. It is the VERY REASON our company was created. Not to make millions, not to make women rich, not to bring people like me home from their 9 to 5 jobs, not to teach you how to do a great smokey eye (though it did that, too).
