We have been coming here for 38 years, and it is still the same brilliant wonderful quaint English pub, beer & atmosphere are fantastic 😎😎😎. No juke box or fruit machines ot Tv’s, you have to talk to each other, and the locals are friendly !!!

This is one of those reviews you don’t want to write because you want to keep it a secret as to how great this place is. I travel extensively and can honestly say the warm, no red hot, welcome you get from not only the staff but the patrons too is just out of this world.

The beer is just sublime and the brewer is happy to show and chat about his skill.

There are too many names to mention but Julie remember we survived storm Emma meets the beast from the east Wednesday 28th February in the back bar fuelled by middle. Get the photo on because I can’t post it.

There just isn't anywhere quite like the Blue Anchor. Spingo @ £2.90/pint, live music (at least) 3 nights a week. What a pub should be instead of all these poncey gastropubs! :)

User

The Spingo goes down far too well

Made to feel very welcome. Lovely atmosphere. Left with a few bottles to tide me over!

User

Stroll to the bottom of the high street for a tradional pub with a long history. Specialist beer including Spingo, their own falling over water. Cask Ales feature as well as Cider and Lager, so something for everyone. A must see when in Helston.

User

Stopped for a pint while working this way... WOW what a really great pint of Ale, brewed on site and only £2.90 a pint.

Friendly staff and locals, made to feel very welcome indeed.

User

Old and original..homemade beer....a great place to visit and partake....some evenings enjoy the music too.....

User

Not even Carlsberg would get it this good. Brilliant beer, brilliant staff. A proper pub.

User

Love this pub I actually met my husband asking for directions how to get to the Anchor on Flora day ! Great pub & amazing Spingo.

User

Having moved from East London it's nice to find a pub that has good tasting beer, and Spingo has hit the spot, even though I have to come 10 miles on the bus for a few pints.👍

User

Had a great night here in 1992 when I was 17 and had another one here in 2016. Great beer, great atmosphere, all pubs should be like this. Will try not to leave it 24 years before I visit again.

User

Greatest pub in the World. Featured in the Times (or was it BBC?) list of 10 most important historic, industrial sites in Britain. Representing the best and most enduring traditions in the Brewing Industry

User

Great place, staff were lovely, locals were very friendly and some very good music in the front bar (especially for a Thursday night), definitely going again.

User

Dropped in for one at this very old, dare I say medieval, country hostelry. It would be a sin not to taste the Spingo ale as it’s brewed here. Flora pint went down a treat. The special mix was very nicely received by another in the group. Low ceilings and small little rooms to hide away and plan the next days treasure hunting. Check out the hanging list of those people executed locally in the past. Real stone floors, low doorways and great character.

User

Best pub, best beer, best staff and excellent bands including the locals with their Cornish sing songs

User

Best pub in the world! Great beer, great music and events and fabulous staff

User

Been drinking spingo since I was old enough. I’m now57 I had a pint of special yesterday and it was the best I have EVER had. Well done.

User

Stayed here for 4 days for Flora day. Got the front bedroom with the bay window, best view for the parades ln Helston. Staff very friendly and great breakfast as was the Spingo ale. Highly recommended.
