After being in the health and fitness industry for over 5 years, I began looking for answers that no one else seemed to have. I stumbled upon a company called Functional Patterns and I am now currently learning with them. If I can make someones quality of life better, I will be a happy man. If your currently in pain, riddled with injuries, stressed, holding onto excess body fat or simply want to improve your quality of life /movement get in touch. Health and happiness is my number one priority : )

Having all this time is allowing me to train charlotte every morning, we are putting in the work getting up at half 6 every week day to address her dysfunctions. I can't wait to see her progress over the next few weeks and unravel her scoliosis. #fp #fpisthestandard #Functionalpatterns #functionaltraining #gait #core #sun #outdoors #movepainfree #health

Reposted from @thewoovement šŸšØ BREAKDOWN šŸšØ Segmentation is something that is rarely ever talked about in the fitness industry. Here you can see Ryan Garcia knocking his opponent out with a bomb of a left hook. ā€¢ As he opens his guard to throw you see his head pull back while extending his chest to start his motion. But, letā€™s back up just a bit. As he does that he has already began to rotate his hips to throw the hook. His hips are loading his AOS/POS (Anterior/Post. oblique s...ling) the motion goes you see his hips continue to rotate (look at is right hip pull backwards) this begins to pull his torso in same direction. As the video pauses you see his hips and torso rotating through the punch but his arm is still behind him. This is the loading of the AOS, as he stops the rotation of the torso and hips the arm whips (slings) forward landing the punch before his opponent can land his. ā€¢ This is one example of why we prioritize integration of movement versus isolation. If you are constantly doing pressing motions and rowing motions without rotation you are disconnecting the sling thus limiting your ability to move effectively and efficiently. For those who donā€™t fight this applies to you even more so. Many athletes still train presses and rows without rotation, but due to genetics and the variety of movements they rep out in their skills training they are able to overcome the disconnection of those slings. Many end up with injuries because of this. If you didnā€™t hit the genetic lottery or donā€™t get movement variations to the degree of a high level athlete you most certainly need to focus on integrating your arms with your torso. When you are walking, as the arm swings forward it needs to push (press) the torso into rotation, as the opposite arm swings backwards it needs to pull (row) the torso into rotation. Working under these principles keeps the body moving in an integrated manner. With all that being said I have skimmed over many other systems that are at work here yet the action of walking and punching are working under the same principles. This is why @functionalpatterns prioritizes gait cycle over everything else. #fp #fpisthestandard #functionalpatterns

Gait is king. Sitting next to king gait is throwing. This function above all, is the most important thing a human can do well.
If your in pain, a max sprint test will show why. If your not training the human body in relation to the characteristics that make us human, you will suffer.
You cannot ignore the process of evolution. We have evolved to walk, run and throw. It's how we survived.
... Naudi explains this very well, you must train the organism based on its traits. You can't train a race horse the same way you would train a dolphin. "well duh it's a different animal, the joints are different, the planes of motion are different" seems obvious doesn't it.
Well human beings are the same guys. If you look at the planes of motion humans need to move well in, the transverse plane is going to be extremely important.
What happens when you ignore this? šŸ¤” Pain and dysfunction šŸ˜” How do you know what I'm saying is right or a load of šŸ’© ? Look at Functional Patterns results. The proof is in the pudding, we all need a slice of functional pie šŸ„§

Reposted from @fp.veira @nipietro_ Posture Improvements from Dec 14th - March 4th. . . Nick came to training with an open mind, and ready to improve his body. Like many people, he was surprised to see the way his body behaved during his standing posture and while performing dynamic motions. Once he understood and became aware of his condition he was ready to dive deep into FP. Groin, lumbar, neck pain would flare up every other day, but now we are pain free at those areas and... currently working on integrating his fascial lines to the rest of his structure a la #fp. . Before: Relaxed Standing Posture - Neck discomfort and overactive traps - Laterally compressed shoulders - Pectus Excavatum - Compressed Torso and Collapsed Ribcage - Visibile Spinal compressions at Cervical, Thoraccic and lumbar vertebraeā€™s with an unstable Sacrum leading to hip hike. - Scoliotic curvatures present during standing posture and dynamic movements. - Compressed Knees when running or training Kickboxing. - Groin pain on Right pelvis. . After: Intrinsic Standing Posture - Laterally decompressed shoulders. - Vertically decompressed Lats - Elongated Torso and Spine. - Lats and Pecs supporting Ribcage and Neck. - Improved Neutral Spine with Decreased Ribcage, Lumbar and cervical Shifts. - Neutral Pelvis. - Decompressed Knees, supported by integrated muscle tensions. . #fpisthestandard #functionalpatterns #decompression #lumbardecompression #neckpain #lumbarpain #shoulderpain #scoliosis #standingposture #posture #kneepain #delraybeachfitness #delraybeachpersonaltrainer #tuneintotheboring #fitfam #fitguys #hiphike #fpdelray - #regrann

Reposted from @functionalpatterns SCOLIOSIS & PAIN FREE GAINS AFTER 4 MONTHS OF FP BASICS! . . Some šŸ”„šŸ”„šŸ”„ from CERTIFIED HBS @simon_stratford, helping his client address scoliosis and become pain free. Our results are second to none. Goes to show what can be acheived using FP foundational material when applied correctly. Awesome to see! .... . "During 2019 I had great success with a large number of clients utilising the knowledge I have gained from Functional Patterns. One of the success stories was Morgan who had suffered lower back/hip pain for two years and had seen various therapists over the two years to help alleviate his pain but to no avail. . . He was advised to attend yoga classes by a number of ā€˜professionalsā€™ and the picture on the left is the result. After four months of working with me and focusing purely on the FP ā€˜basicsā€™ we are now completely pain free and the picture on the right illustrates the changes we have accomplished. . . After attending HBS1 at FP HQ in November, I am keen to charge into 2020 with even more tools and knowledge to help people become pain free. FP all day !!!! @functionalpatterns" . . #fpisthestandard #functionalpatterns #makehumanfunctionalagain #tuneintotheboring #relevanthumanoptimization - #regrann

Reposted from @fpvahdaneh ONLINE FP training before and after results. 3 months with a total of 8 sessions with @jack_nettleton @functionalpatterns
Client testimonial below ā€œIā€™m an MMA fighter and I was seeing a physical therapist for posture, back and shoulder pain , i didnā€™t feel happy with the results, if any, and I was still experiencing pain. I contacted Vahdaneh as I have been following FP for some time now and managed to do online sessions as I live too far to travel t...o any practitioners. I have achieved great results in the 3 sessions over a month I have done and pain in shoulder and upper back is completely gone, in addition I feel no pain in my hips when I run now and also overall posture is greatly improved. I am improving each session and I am loving the changes that are taking place šŸ‘šŸ¼ā€ #fpisthestandard #functionalpatterns #mmafighter #athlete #fpallday #makehumansfunctionalagain #biomechanics - #regrann

Sometimes the best thing you can do for the people around you is to be healthy. We have billions of people occupying planet earth. We all need to deal with our shit and stop being such a burden to society.
Still trying to fully understand and define what it means to be "healthy". However, if your not considering these things your missing alot of the picture:
1. Light environment and its effects on mitochondria... 2. Biomechanics and how it relates to fascia/stress response (Functional Patterns) 3. Optimal gut function/digestion/nutrition 4. Stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system 5. Stress 6. Circadian rhythm 7. Fasting 8. Sleep 9. Nature 10. Your associations to stress 11. Thinking more like a mechanist 12. Language and abstractions 13. Breathing/Nasal breathing 14. Hydration 15. Inflammation 16. EMF 17. Your values
I'm still a total noob in most of these things and need to further my knowledge on all of them if I really want to be in optimal health.
Anything else to consider I will of missed?
If we all take our health and life more seriously, like we all have suddenly because of convid-19, we would save lives. It's a shame we needed convid-19 for the wake up call.

Reposted from @fp_shane **RESULTS** @fp_brisbane Oct 28 2019 > Jan 7 2020 > March 13 2020 āœ… Improvements in scoliotic curve āœ… Improved joint stacking and scapular positioning āœ… Improved balance and coordination... āœ… Improved cognitive function and proprioception ā€¢ ā€¢ ā€¢ Due to severe head trauma received early last year, training @melissathewong has been a tedious process. Dynamic movement has been all but off the table as her cognitive functions would decline rapidly resulting in dizziness and a loss of balance. The changes seen here have been brought about entirely by the application of @functionalpatterns correctives (IMAPS) and myofascial release. Training in relation to our biomechanical blueprint targets all systems of the body, including the vestibular system so itā€™s no surprise to see an improvement in her balance and coordination as we start to ramp up her dynamic movement. Looking forward to continued results from this dedicated client ā€¢ ā€¢ ā€œI have seen significant improvement to my coordination, posture and proprioception through Functional Patterns. These sessions have played a key part in my journey to recover my cognitive and physical functions after my injury. Shane is an effective coach with a keen eye and knowledge for movement patterns. I have really enjoyed training with him.ā€ . . . . #fpisthestandard #Functionalpatterns #fpbrisbane #tuneintotheboring #relevanthumanoptimisation #leveragingmotions #scoliosis #gait #biomechanics #functionalfitness #functionaltraining #brisbanept - #regrann

Meant to post sooner. I went back & forth with what I wanted to say about the fitness industry, lots of things I wanted to say I left alone. **my history in the photos** I want to make known that @functionalpatterns is the best system out thereā€”the results are proof. This approach to training is more than just "working out." FP is the only system that is a "one stop shopā€ for ALL HUMANS, no matter the age, ability or disability. The fitness education system that has been established needs to change because current traditional training methods are archaic. In most cases, traditional methods cause more harm than good because they do not respect the nature of the human body and how we were designed to move.
Through FP you can change not only your body composition, but the actual structure of your body. The fascial system connects every single thing within your body and we must accept and respect that concept. By re-tensioning your fascia through specific movements (bringing more balance to the fascial system), problems can be addressed through biomechanics. Simply put, if all the systems of the body are better connected, the function of the body as a whole will work better as a result. Remember, NO SYSTEMS ARE SEPARATEā€”everything is connected.

Reposted from @naudiaguilar Kinda agitating. This is possibly the most important statistic regarding C18 cases in the US over the last 9 to 10 days. If there are going to be more deaths because of C18, I'd bet it's the immunosuppression associated with the fear mongering done by the press. You take an already weak and anxious population by freaking them out about trump being a fascist dictator (he's not even close that), then you give them a doomsday scenario to ingrain that ...panic so deeply that their parasympathetic nervous system can't functional well enough to defeat this illness. . . Terrorism fears were what pushed me away from republicans in the 2000s, and this kind of shit here is really pushing me away from liberals. It seems if you drop a pin on the ground these days that you get liberals freaking out about how unpleasant the sound of that pin drop was. Rarely do they ask whether or not it's them overreacting. . . I'm not saying that we are overreacting at all with this pandemic with the institutions of quarantines. All I'm saying is that whatever is being done is having some kind of an effect if 14 percent of people tested WHO ARE EXHIBITING SYMPTOMS actually end up with C18. The point is that there is some level of progress going on and that we can focus on that while we chill in quarantine. . . We are going to get through this. The numbers are concerning for sure, but we have to see them in context to other numbers to determine how concerning they really are. That's all I'm saying. - #regrann

******GYM CLOSURE******
Anyone booked in for next week, please note that the gym will be closed until further notice. Message me and we can communicate to re-schedule.
Even though the traffic of people in and out of the gym space is small due it being used only for personal training, I don't want to further expose myself, others and potentially spread this virus.
... We must all do our bit to help minimise the spread of this virus and change our behaviour. Take social distancing seriously.
HOWEVER - I will be offering online sessions so if your interested hit me up šŸ‘Š
All the best guys, stay healthy, we are one, we are all humans, we got this šŸ‘

Following on from my last post about sleep and its importance :) stay healthy guys.
"As a result of the physiologic changes associated with sleep disruption, numerous health consequences have been reported. Short-term consequences of sleep disruption include increased stress responsivity; somatic problems; reduced quality of life (QoL); emotional distress; mood disorders and other mental health problems; cognition, memory, and performance deficits; and behavior problems in ot...herwise healthy individuals. Sleep disruption may also diminish the health-related quality of life (HRQoL) of children and adolescents with underlying medical conditions"

"Adult studies have identified a range of psychosocial issues associated with sleep disruption in adults, from emotional distress and mood disorders to cognitive, memory, and performance deficits"
Here is a simple article outlining and confirming some of the points i made yesterday with studies linked to support the article.
