Braunton Skate Bowl Description

Welcome to the page for users of Braunton Skate Bowl. Join our community and help us improve the skating area - fundraisers and event organisers needed!

The Museum of British Surfing is a registered charity (1131433) and saved the bowl from closing when it took over the lease in 2011 - it now manages Braunton Skate Bowl for everyone to enjoy free of charge.

We need to raise funds to develop the Bowl, but also just to keep it open. Insurance and maintenance costs several hundred pounds a year.

The original bowl was created by a local fundraising campaign in 2004 and has been brilliant and is still much-loved, but it is now approaching the end of its working life, so we're planning to create a new and bigger facility based around the existing bowl.

It's likely to cost upwards of £85, 000; if you'd like to hold a fundraising event at Braunton Skate Bowl - please check-in with the Museum of British Surfing to be covered by the public liability insurance. We can help you with posters & publicity and the appropriate entry /waiver forms for participants.

Help us make Braunton Skate Bowl a fantastic place for skaters, scooter riders and BMXers.

Please note:

Damage caused in the bowl area & surrounding buildings has a big affect on our ability to afford to keep running the bowl - if you see anyone causing damage please report it to the police on 101 or come & let us know.

Any vandalism will result in the bowl will be closed for a minimum of 48 hours or until repairs can be done.
