Our Dragonboat festival wouldnt be the same without our very own Brixham pirate Capt Blackheart!

If you were watching ‘Saving Lives at Sea’ earlier you will have seen Brixham featured over The 2017 BrixFest weekend when the Torbay Lifeboat crew were called out to an accident where a spectator of The Heritage Regatta suffered a terrible injury. Some of our Marshalls & staff from The Dragon Boat Company were still at the beach that afternoon and assisted in a very minor way keeping the crowds away from the beach where the air ambulance landed. Watching the rescue tonight however, we feel incredibly proud of our Lifeboat crew, not just because of their response and rescue but because of the care, compassion and respect they demonstrated. 10 days til Fishstock - an amazing day out & and one that raises money for The Fishermen’s Mission who do such great work in our community & around the country! Please support them by attending & if you can spare a few hours I believe they are still looking for volunteers. Fantastic events for all of the family fireworks, dragon boat racing, pirates, markets, crabbing competitions & live music. We love Brixham anyway but it was fantastic to see the harbour really come alive during Brixfest!

Fantastic event put on by the people of Brixham. I have been going to brixfest since 2012 and every year it just gets better. Great experience for young children and adults alike.
