About Bursledon Brickworks
The museum of bricks and brickmaking
Bursledon Brickworks Description
Come and be amazed at the authentic sights, sounds and smells of the last stream-driven Victorian brickworks in the UK. Follow in the footsteps of the brickmakers to see how bricks were once made here by the million and experience what a Victorian factory with its huge machinery was like.
There really is something for everyone, lots of hands-on activities for children of all ages. You can even have a go at making your own brick. Plenty of space inside if the weather is poor and we welcome well behaved dogs on leads.
Once a month all the machinery is steamed up and the place hums with life again. We have four stationary engines, a railway on site, resident traction engines who help us put on a really good day out β no chance of getting bored!
An inexpensive family visit, with lots of brick related activities and family trails. Enjoy free parking, snacks, drinks and gift shop.
We are based on the River Hamble with lovely riverside walks, and Manor Farm and Bursledon Windmill close by. Why not make a day of it?

WE NEED YOUR HELP! Please like our video on the ERIH - European Route of Industrial Heritage Facebook page. The videos with the most likes at the end of the month will win some £££. Only likes on their page count, not on our page or on this post. We were very nervous about doing a dance and putting it online was terrifying, but it will all be worth it if we are able to raise some funds for this incredible building. Thank you π§±

Our next big steam up is arguably one of our favourites - Steampunk at the Brickworks is on May 26th this year. Costumes are encouraged (oh my gee last year you all looked AMAZING!) but not essential, so if you're a hard core Steampunk fan, or you just want to find out what it's all about, pop on down on May 26th.
