In April we lost 95 appointments to people who didn't turn up - that's 15.8 hours or, 9.4% of our appointment availability for the month! It's also 95 patients that we could have seen who needed appointments but couldn't get one. If you can't make or no longer need your appointment, please contact the surgery as soon as possible so these can be offered to other patients. You can call us, email us, or reply CANCEL to the text reminders that you receive.

We have been made aware of an issue with appointment reminder texts being sent to patients. We have worked with our SMS provider and hope this is now resolved. We apologise for any inconvenience this has caused.

Smallpox was a destructive virus with a mortality rate around 30%. The Smallpox vaccination was incredibly successful and resulted in the eradication of the disease globally in 1979. This demonstrates the effectiveness of a vaccination programme with high uptake.

Did you know that one of the benefits to the community of immunisation is herd immunity? Herd immunity happens when a high percentage of the population is protected through vaccination against a virus or bacteria, it makes it difficult for the virus to spread as there are so few people left who could catch the disease.

24th to 30th April is European Immunisation Week: European Immunisation Week is dedicated to raising awareness of the benefits of immunisation for the individual and the community as a whole.
With so-called "Victorian Diseases" starting to creep back in to society, vaccinating your child has never been more important. Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Diptheria, Tetanus and Polio are just some of the diseases that can have serious consequences but we can vaccinate against.
