We hope you've all been out and enjoying the sun and weather recently. Just a quick update to let you all know we will be increasing our already gigantic flock colour stock!
Over the years we have manufactured many bespoke colours for our customers using our mixed flock method. Our mixed flock colour match service is something that we offer to customers when we do not have an exact colour match in our standard stock colours - but they only require a s...mall quantity of flock. We've been collecting pages upon pages of recipes for all the colours we have matched, and today - we have decided to make these colours available to everyone!
Because of the nature of mixed flock, it is worth bearing in mind that the final colour can be slightly speckled in appearance rather than being a single flat colour like our standard stock flock - the speckled nature is more prominent in darker colours, but we think it adds more texture and depth!
Look out for the "Mixed Flock" Category available on our web shop soon - unfortunately mixed flock will only be available in our 1.0mm 3.3 decitex length!

At the beginning of 2019, we had a number of issues in regards to some of our longer length flock fibres - the main culprits were our 4.0mm & 6.0mm Straw, 6.0mm Ocker and Khaki (as well as a variety of other colours in the 4.0mm+ lengths).
This had been an ongoing issue with one of our mills for quite some time, having tried to rectify the issue and unfortunately not receiving a product to the quality and standard we were happy with; and after a numb...er of complaints/worries from our customers in regards to our new batch being unusable, this was the final straw (no pun intended!)
We have now migrated production of our longer flock fibres away from this mill, with hopes that we will not have any quality and static-related issues in the future, and so that we can guarantee that our customers receive the best flock possible! With regards to this, we have managed to produce near-perfect colour matches for the majority of these flocks, and added a few additional new colours to the range we already stock.
During this colour match process, our 'Straw' colour was reworked so that it resembled what it was originally supposed to look like - after many years of receiving slightly varied colours from our old mill, the colour had in fact changed quite drastically! We received feedback from a number of you guys requesting the old colour Straw as well as the 'New' Straw. To avoid confusion (if you're not already confused!) we have renamed our lighter 'New' straw to Hay 452C. Production of the previous colour Straw (as you guys will have known it for the last few years) has now begun - and will remain as Straw 4515C.
With deepest respect to our loyal customers, we felt the need to be open and honest in regards to the sub-standard quality in a number of our flocks over the previous few months. We hope that our changes will serve you all well in the future and appreciate your patience and assistance over this period. As we are changing our flock stocks over to the new mill, a number of colours have intermittently become out of stock. Rest assured we are doing everything we can to get the colours back in stock as soon as possible!

Happy Easter everyone! Just a quick reminder to let you know that we will be closing Thursday, 18th April at 5PM and reopening Tuesday, 23rd April.

We've had a few people asking us how to flock graphics on to flocked substrates. The information can now be found in our FAQ section of the web shop - https://www.theflockingshop.co.uk/faqs-3- w.asp
The easiest way to achieve the logo or lettering is to first flock the substrate completely in the base colour. When the adhesive/base coat has fully cured, using a stencil - apply another coat of adhesive on to the top surface of the base flock as per the shape of the stencil. The...n, using a contrasting flock colour (as this gives the best results) flock into the stencil adhesive.
​​​​​​​An alternative way to apply a non-flocked logo or lettering is to decorate/paint/colour the substrate with the details of the design, once this has cured, apply and cover it entirely with a stencil. Once your design is covered, spray the flocking adhesive to the substrate and apply your flock. Before you adhesive has full cured, remove the stencil to reveal the logo underneath.

Good afternoon!
We have now restocked a large number of flocks - White, Black 6.7, Canary Yellow etc.
We also have a few new colours that are being added to our ever expanding stock colour range! Cerise in 1.0mm, Neon Orange in 0.5mm, and Black in both 3.0mm and 7.0mm!

It's that time of year again! We will be closing this afternoon at 1PM for the Christmas break. Orders can still be placed on our web shop at www.theflockingshop.co.uk, but these won't be dispatched until our return on Wednesday, 2nd January 2019!
