The final day of the season promises some brilliant, top class racing action featuring three Class 2 Races including the Cavendish Cup Handicap Steeplechase.
The August Bank Holiday Raceday also sees the winners of the competitive Cartmel Challenges announced.

This is Barbecue Day – bring your own barbie and cook lunch before racing! As always, there will be a prize for the most stylish picnic or BBQ at the meeting.

The first day of our July Barbecue meeting has established itself as a highly popular fixture, featuring some fantastic racing action including the valuable Handicap Hurdle race with the Cumbria Crystal Trophy and our only female jockeys race.
Racegoers are welcome to bring a barbecue and can even order BBQ packs of meat with advance race-tickets.
Picnic and dogs are permitted as always.

The June Sunday Funday is the second day of the June meeting and is known for its relaxed atmosphere as a family day featuring children’s entertainers, performers and of course all the fun of the fairground.
Watch an exciting card of seven races and enjoy a picnic or food from one of our many outlets.

Our third and final fixture of the Whit Holiday meeting is a slightly more relaxed Wednesday evening fixture with seven races and as always, the fairground will be in operation to ensure a good time for all.

The Racecourse will be open from 11am and the first race will commennce at approximately 5pm.

The Whit Bank Holiday Meeting is one of our oldest fixtures, first becoming an official race-meeting 160 years ago and the Bank Holiday Monday continues to be one of the most popular fixtures of the season.
Join thousands of racegoers here at our friendly racecourse in Cartmel for a fantastic afternoon of family fun – with the fairground, trade-stands and of course, seven exciting races. Tickets will be available at the entrance.

Our Groundsteam have dismantled the chase fences including this #openditch (see below) ready to be re-built in the New Year. Our padded hurdles, new for 2018, were a huge success this summer (see below) and have also been re-painted and re-conditioned ready for 2019. #groundsteamgoals #winterwork
