Only two months old, this new business venture has Urchfont resident Jenny Holt at the helm.

Jenny is utilising the skills of local people to assist her in this, her new lighting business.

As can be seen in pictures, Jenny is re-purposing everyday items from kitchen, bar, and restaurant as lighting for the home.

Dubbed ‘quirky’ by one of her first customers, the lighting is an ideal way of utilising LED lighting in the kitchen without the glare normally associated with LED lamps.

The range includes china, copper, glass and stainless steel; - cups, shot glasses, preserving jars, Balti dishes and teapots have all had the Jenny Holt treatment!

In their kitchen showroom, Jenny has utilised a mixture of items to give a flavour of the choice available. She is expecting people to pick a style and use the under cupboard lights in one material. However the lighting has a charm that lends itself to the mix and match – with the glasses allowing more light to shine out and the other materials give directional light on the worktop.

Pendant lighting also features in the collection. Jenny has some large colanders which allow the light to twinkle through the sieve-holes; chip fryers and cocktail shakers provide a contemporary feature in the kitchen and the champagne and wine coolers and copper and steel Balti dishes also lend themselves to uses around the home.

Jenny’s designs have been quickly embraced by housebuilders and kitchen showrooms across the South of England and she is now offering an interior design service to complement the lighting
offer.
