At Chartwell Doors and Security Solutions, we provide a comprehensive catalogue of access, security and building envelope services. Our capabilities range from gates, barriers and doors to windows, shutters and curtain walling to high-tech entry controls and CCTV systems.
With in-house engineering expertise, two manufacturing centres and regional offices in Hampshire, Kent and Northamptonshire, we can contribute to any stage of a project – design, fabrication, installation, maintenance or upgrades. We can also provide a seamless service from inception through to completion and operation – and we’re available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, every day of the year.
As an independent specialist, we are not beholden to any one manufacturer, freeing us to select the products and systems that best meet the needs of our customers and partners. Another successful installation of a brand new shiny shutter at Hackney Marsh Adventure Playground.
One of our latest jobs consisted in a conversion from swing doors to sliding doors. The original swing doors were large, each at 1090mm wide by 2650mm high and such large doors are regularly caught by the wind so were struggling to open and close and ended up getting damaged. We removed the automatic swing doors and fitted new sliding door operator and new door leaves which slide behind the new hinged safety side screens.
Another important job at Nuffield Hospital in Oxford. Six new theatre doors installed and fully automated.
One of our most recent jobs at Great Ormond Street Hospital. A new manual sliding door and window fitted at the recently refurbished special care ward.
We newly installed this shop front ready for the Co Op fit out, comprising of seven double windows and two sets of double entrance doors. All powder coated white and fitted with double glazed units.
Chartwell Doors Ltd installed a new glass outer entrance with minimal hardware to suit a corbelled arch and have self closing leaves. Manufactured from 10mm toughened glass, the top panel was carefully measured to fit around the corbelled area and up into the arch and held in place with five glass clamps. The door leaves are also manufactured from 10mm toughened glass and fitted on specialist hinges which allow the door to be self closing or held in an open position.
Recently installed by Chartwell Doors Lts - we supplied & installed 6 semi auto bollards at a site in Enfield. The BFT Dampy B bollards are operated by gas spring for extremely easy operation and allow road access control. Each bollard sits 700mm in height and 210mm wide.

One of our latest jobs installing a replacement curtain shutter, complete with wind locks and a new 3 phase motor.
One of our most recent installs in Gloucester: Bi Parting Cantilever Sliding Gates c/w 358 mesh infill operating as Master/Slave. Duel height safety photocells, Safety edges and warning lamp/sounder.
In preparation for a special event in Windsor, Chartwell Doors Ltd replaced the CCTV systems with a new IP system with MVRs, new cameras and a new transmission using the existing infrastructure, IP over copper and additional security cameras were installed. Below are the before and after photos.
A recent install at Spire Hospital in Cambridge. We automated these doors at the nurse station and the preparation area. The equipment fitted was Record DFA127 swing door operators with full safety and the doors are controlled via access control.
Chartwell Doors' latest job was to was replace an old shutter with this shiny new one. Very nice!

One of our most recent jobs was to create a new doorway for the outside restaurant area of the Hilton Hotel in Bristol. Our engineers carefully removed the existing glass panel and inserted a new swing door entrance into the existing framework, the ground was cut and prepared for the underground closing mechanism which allows the door to be opened to 180 degrees and held in this position allowing greater use of the area.
