Apologies for not posting earlier updates ... The works are progressing very well, we are on target to reopen sometime during the week beginning Monday 7th December. Looking forward to welcoming you to your new Chez Fred! We're all really excited, can't wait! X

What a lovely little restaurant. Yummy chips (replenished if required) and lightly battered fish. Nice, friendly service and complimentary sparkling water. 🐟 & 🍟

Usually visit in summer and always have to queue, which is worth it! Visited last night and no queue, sat straight down. Food, as always, delicious and straight out the fryer. Lots on the plate and free chip refill if you can manage them!!! Very good value for money!!

Took my wife and my neighbour at lunch time on Wednesday. We had a fantastic meal, the fish and chips are outstanding, excellent service. The place was packed which tells you a lot.

Still remains the best fish and chips in the south. Takeaway is great and the restaurant is great with kids. Lovely bunch of people but not cheap.

My first visit to Chez Fred and was not disappointed,service and meal were excellent,would defiantly recommend.Very good value!

If we want a good fish and chip meal we always make our way to Chez Freds staff are really friendly, food fantastic and place is really clean�

I went for the first time on Monday with my sister who must eat gluten free. The fish and chips were of excellent quality, cooked to perfection, very tasty mushy peas and unlimited coffee. My sister had extra helpings of the unlimited gluten free chips. First class service provided by Sean. We will most definitely go there again.

I came here last night with a friend, which was my first ever visit. Although I live a few miles away I will be visiting Chez Fred again next time I have a hankering for fish'n'chips.



The fish was beautiful and the chips were crunchy on the outside, soft on the middle and a wonderfully distinct lack of grease!

Then to finish it off, all the staff were friendly, polite and seemed genuinely happy to be there!

Exceptional fish & chips, got to be one of the best in the country, by the people queuing for an amazing meal we can't all be wrong !!

Delicious food cooked to perfection. Not a spot of grease in sight. Friendly polite staff and lovely atmosphere. Excellent value for money will definitely return again!!

Definitely the best fish and chip shop we have ever been to ...we have been coming here for years from up north and each year we visit chez fred...Fantastic staff and fantastic food and is always busy ( must be doing something right )...love it .

A special plaice with lovely people, absolute quality all round. If its busy, know its always worth the wait.

Great fish & chips happy staff but the tables were very close together and people were through and around all the time. Felt rushed . But food very good

Fish is so fresh and tasty. Sean our waiter was very good and helpful. Shame about the young lady on the reception desk who was slightly less than helpful until relieved by her colleague but all in all a good experience
