The midwife support I received antenatally from Carole and during my labour and birth from Sally was second to none. Whilst I didn’t give birth at the Centre, and had a waterbirth at home, I would like to publicly highlight, and pass on a huge thanks in particular to, these two fabulous ladies. They were always respectful of my wishes, kind, professional and friendly; I have no doubt they played a role in my very positive birth experience and really appreciated the continuity of antenatal care. I couldn’t have asked for more!

Our experience at CBC has been nothing but positive through our whole pregnancy journey. The staff at the centre are friendly and knowledgeable and were brilliant at explaining what's happening at any point.



We were transferred to Swindon during labour but returned to Chippenham after we were discharged for after care and were welcomed like old friends... the midwives that we had seen during the early stages of our labour were so invested that messages had gone back and forth from Swindon to see how were doing throughout delivery.



The treatment that we've had from all the staff at CBC has made the experience of having our first son as wonderful as we hoped. Not only I and my son but my husband as well... thank you everyone

On Monday I gave birth to my beautiful baby boy at Chippenham birthing centre, my birthing experience was absolutely amazing! When I think back and tell my friends and family about the labour I can only describe it as a overwhelmingly euphoric experience (which was a world apart from my first pregnancy). The midwives are incredible! I was lucky enough to share my birth with the midwives Lowri and Jenny - who I had got to know over my pregnancy appointments, and the difference that made was beautiful, especially as Jenny's a student midwife and it was her first hands on birth! It makes it so personal and special when you know the people who help you bring your baby into the world . The room I was given was spacious and bright and had a pool in, a pregnancy ball, a very comfortable rocking chair and some other props. The care and attention given to me after the birth was amazing , I was reminded of how to care for a newborn baby in terms of dressing and appropriate layering, sleeping positions, breastfeeding and hand expressing - all things which are so knowledgeable and easily forgotten after going through labour and being exhausted - there's just a huge difference in not having to ask and potentially feel silly for asking what seem like obvious questions, and instead having one of the midwives taking their time to explain all of these to you and then asking if you have any questions. My mum and I were then given tea and toast! I cannot recommend Chippenham Birthing Centre highly enough! Thank you so much for giving me the experience I had always dreamed of! �

Nara was born on Friday 8th December 2017 at Chippenham. We couldn't be more grateful to all the staff at the birthing centre especially Corinne who delivered Nara. It was so lovely to see the friendly face of a midwife who had cared for me antenatally when I arrived in labour.

I would definitely recommend the birthing centre itself and the staff who work there for the care I received both before during and after giving birth.

Just wanted to say a huge thank you to all of the amazing midwives at Chippenham birthing centre.



Our beautiful baby girl was born naturally at the birthing centre on Monday 5th September 2016 and the midwives ensured that mum and baby were top priority.



We were welcome to stay as long as we wanted and despite the team being really busy with other deliveries we were made to feel both welcome and supported throughout.



A special thanks to the midwives who were with us through the night and brought our baby into the world. Thank you Charmaine and Jackie you were amazing and Jane who was a huge help at the end.



You do an amazing job and we owe you a huge amount of gratitude and respect for the jobs that you do.

I would like to say how amazing the midwives and staff are at Chippenham Birthing Centre, I gave birth here a week ago to our 3rd child and each Labour I have experienced has been at the hands of the staff at Chippenham. They go above and beyond to ensure your pregnancy and birth is as calm and relaxed as possible and to hear the threat of closure is just outrageous! I would recommend any mum-to-be to consider coming here for the post care and to give birth xx

I recently had my little girl at CBC. The care provided was absolutely amazing, and the delivery was great. My midwife, Sally, was incredible for the whole experience. She made me feel extremely calm and reassured me the whole time. The care provided was exceptional. I’m so happy I got to deliver my little girl at CBC. I was rushed to the RUH and the two midwifes that came with me were also great, and kept me from really panicking. All the staff during my pregnancy, in labour and after birth have been brilliant. I can’t thank you all enough!�

I initially chose to have my baby in Bath but when I went into labour at home I got offered Chippenham on the phone! When I got there it was quiet, calm. A friendly midwife greeted me and it put me at ease right away. Had the labour in the pool but got out at the last min and pushed with the lovely amazing midwives Alisha and Gill guiding me. So big thank you to them. Plus they let you go home right away if all okay with baby so very relaxed with no waiting around for doctors to sign you off etc. Would 100% recommend Chippenham. ❤️

I had my son here 8 years ago & my daughter 4 years ago who was delivered by the lovely midwife that is Corinne, who was fantastic. I have also have the pleasure to now work at CBC myself for nearly a year & can honestly say you wont meet a more professional & lovely team of midwives (and MCA's ) than those at CBC. Have loved this birthing centre the moment I walked in 8 years ago & highly recommend to everyone who is pregnant & looking for the best place to receive above & beyond care!!

I had my second child at CBC. I still can’t believe how lucky I am to have had Carole Poulton on all of my midwife appointments. It was on my last appointment, she tells me to have baby Emily on the Monday 15th of January between 8am and 8pm because she’s working that day! Low and behold, I went into labour on the 15th of January at 2am and Carole delivered baby Emily with Student midwife Katie Burfitt at 8:52am. What are the odds � . I was treated like royalty by everyone who looked after me, what an amazing bunch of people. Beautiful people inside and out. I would recommend anyone to have their baby at CBC. I’m still buzzing 19 days after having Emily. Thank you team Chippenham.

I gave birth to my beautiful 8.3lb Scarlett January 20th thank you so much to Sharon who delivered and to Emma for the support and care afterwards. Even though we were extra speedy and in and out within 6 hours. I came in at 12.20am at 6cm dilated and Scarlett was then born at 01:38am extra fast! The support and care was fabulous and will definitely be choosing here again! ��

I gave birth to my 4th daughter Arabella at CBC on June 25th. As I hadn't had a baby for 12 years and this was my first with my husband I can't explain what an amazing experience this was for me. Tracy and Sara where both kind and extremely professional and I thank them both deeply. I couldn't recommend CBC enough!! X

I can't thank Chippenham Birthing Centre enough for the fabulous support and amazing midwives- especially Jackie Strain - she was just fabulous throughout my pregnancy and we were so lucky to have her support, always putting my mind at rest with worries and telling me to rest when she knew I was doing too much! Our first child was born at the RUH, when I was discharged at midnight I went straight to the birthing centre and they instantly made me feel at home and completely supported. I was exhausted and they even gave my son a bottle for me in the middle of the night so I could rest. There is no rush to go home, and midwives on hand to help - they even showed us how to bathe our son.

For our second child, we made a last minute decision to go to the birthing centre for the delivery- the best decision we could have ever made. The experience was so calm and having our daughter in the birthing pool was so much calmer and relaxing. The birthing centre itself is lovely and quiet and makes you feel much calmer. Gillian Barnes delivered our beautiful little girl, Isla Rose, on the 13.01.17 - and she kept me going when I thought I couldn't any longer- thank you so much!! The birthing centre is truly brilliant, you offer such fantastic support following the birth and I could not recommend it more to anyone! thank you so so much xx

Gave birth too my first born here in December 2008....but after severe complications with myself afterwards I couldn't have my next 2 children here although they looked after me during my pregnancies... CBC Is absolutely amazing - the midwives are lovely, calming, patient and so easy to talk too!! From someone who was saying they wanted every painkiller for labour to having nothing at all was down too them! They made me believe in myself that i could do it..and i did!! :-) Couldn't fault them at all! If I could have had my 2nd and 3rd there I would have!!

Firstly apologies for me taking so long to write this review!

Chippenham Birthing Centre is simply fantastic. From the first appointment right up until I left having given birth and stayed for 48 hours with my little girl my experience was friendly, supportive and so knowledgeable.

I came in to Chippenham on the 20th May 9am and was found to be 4cm dilated so I stayed, was transferred to a lovely birthing suite with pool, and I gave birth 5 hours later!

The facilities are brilliant and the care I received was second to none. A special thanks to Charmaine who was there during the birth, her expert, calm approach was just amazing! There was a lovely student midwife too but I can't remember her name. Once on the ward I had support from several midwives, all of which were helpful and so reassuring but special thanks go to Maria and Tash who stood out to me and did so much for me and baby Pearl!

Pearl is a happy, healthy 5 months now. I don't plan to have any more babies but should we change our mind I wouldn't like to give birth anywhere else! Thank you so much CBC xxx

Firstly and importantly; my midwife Sally and student midwife (cannot remember her name sorry!) were absolutely fantastic. I couldn't have asked for more support or more encouragement. I am so grateful and thankful for everything. Also sorry we weren't able to get you the macdonalds fries promised! �



So, at the start of my labour with my girl Freya. I remember loving the gas and air, singing snoop dog at Phil, pooing in the pool, having to get out and feeling fully dilated and baby's head down there, getting on the bed and within a few minutes after that, Freya made her first appearance! Unfortunately, there were some complications after delivering my placenta (loss of blood and had to be transferred to Bath for a couple of days) but both Freya and I are doing good! Blood loss, lack of iron and a second degree tear for me and lots of love and boobs for Freya �

Cannot rate CBC highly enough. I have had two amazing labours here. With my first in 2013 I unfortunately had to be rushed to Bath at the last minute due to complications but the staff were fantastic in all the madness and myself and my hubby felt reassured at all times. Then 7 weeks ago I gave birth to my second baby daughter at CBC. Emma looked after me and was absolutely amazing and so supportive. It was lovely seeing the same faces at our postnatal checks too. Thank you ladies. You do a fantastic job x
