The CSCC is proud to announce a new sponsor for the CSCC Open Series for 2019, Hampshire based Verum Builders Ltd.
Working with Surveryors, Nursing Homes, Colleges, Housing Associations, and managing refurbishment/dilapidation schedules, including bespoke projects within the commercial building sector, Vernum Builders Ltd provides a high quality service within the commercial building industry.
Verum Builders Director Ann Marie Hardy said, “We are very proud to sponsor the Ope...n Series for the CSCC.” The Verum ‘family’ have raced within the CSCC for six seasons, in various cars and series.
Open to all Production Saloons, Hatchback, Sevens, Sports, GT and Kit Cars of any period, the CSCC Verum Builders Open Series will once again feature one of the most varied grids in UK motorsport, split between two groups and a total of eight classes. Just three main rules apply: No single seaters, no sports racers and no slicks/racing wets. 2019 will provide more exciting, pit stop races the series is famed for at Snetterton, Oulton Park, a double header at Spa Francorchamps, Brands Hatch and Thruxton.
The Classic Sports Car Club thanks Verum Builders Ltd for its support to the club and to its drivers, with Driver Of The Day trophies for Group 1 and Group 2 up for grabs, at every UK meeting.

The CSCC has a new member of the office team, who has started with us today, on a full time basis. Please welcome Arron Groombridge, our Motorsport Assistant: Having volunteered at the CSCC for the past four seasons in race administration, I have now joined the team full time. I will be assisting with social media and in the traditional press, liaising with our large number of volunteer marshals and officials and helping with Classic Lines and the race programmes. A typical... penniless university student means road car experience has been limited to two MK1 Ford Focuses, whilst I studied for a history degree. I’m confident I hold the record for the most amount of punctures and wheel bearing failures suffered for that particular model! I have a soft spot for most forms of motorsport, in particular endurance sports car racing. Road car wise, most 1970s/1980s luxury saloon & GT cars do the trick, though a current Volvo S90 would equally do very nicely if any of you are feeling generous. I look forward to meeting you next week on the CSCC stand 3730, at the Autosport Show.

CSCC end of year 2018 compilation

Fog delayed our start again, but we got the full race duration in, with drivers and team heading home with smiles and a top up of tan to boot. Well that's officially the end of the CSCC racing season, what a brilliant way to close a superb year of club motorsport.

That's day 2 succesfully completed in France for the CSCC Racetruck Open Series races. Fabulous weather and friendly hosts HVM Racing. The day began in fog but it soon burnt off and we just got the full race duration in before sunset.

We are pleased to announce our provisional 2019 calendar. This is the earliest we have released a calendar, please note these dates are provisional, they are subject to change by the circuit operators at any time. You can see that once again we have mixed many of your favourites with something different, as we do every year:
March 22 - Test Day - Snetterton (300) April 6/7 - Snetterton (300) May 4/5 - Silverstone (International) ... May 25/27 - Oulton Park (International) June 27-30 - Spa Francorchamps July 13th/14th - Mondello Park (Special Saloons & Modsports) July 20/21 - Anglesey (International and Coastal) August 17/18 - Brands Hatch (Indy) September 7/8 - Thruxton October 4-6 - Dijon-Prenois (separate Classic + Modern grids) October 26/27 - Donington Park (National) Night Races, Televised
The ‘something new’ for next year is an overseas round for the Special Saloons and Modsports at Mondello Park, two races over the Anglesey weekend (1 x International and 1 x Coastal), separate Modern (2 x 40 minutes) and Classic races (2 x 40 minutes) at the ex-F1 circuit at Dijon, whilst finishing the year we have televised (Amazon Prime and live streaming) day and night races at Donington.
If your favourite track isn’t listed then don’t worry, we will always try to change the calendar a little each year, so it may appear in 2020.
We are working hard on the more detailed timetable, this will be ready for you soon.
Best regards, David Smitheram and Hugo Holder Directors

We teased you last week by announcing that the CSCC is launching an exciting new racing formula for the 2019 season. We can now reveal the ‘RX8 Trophy’. A class for Mazda’s 231bhp rotary engined sports car, racing as part of the RSV Graphics New Millennium grid, at the best circuits in the UK and at Spa Francorchamps.
