Progress continues with the Silverstone Experience. The building, which is now at a stage where the frame has been completed, is ready for the external facade. Deck installations have taken place and all of the strengthening works, which have been particularly complex, are also complete.
cube_design, joined by Mann Williams, Hoare Lea and Illman Young, were kindly invited by Silverstone to attend the Grand Prix Friday practice. All enjoyed a brilliant day at the Drivers' Lounge, situated between the world-famous Stowe and Club Corners.
However, the focus remains on the Experience building, to ensure it is delivered at the appropriate time for our client.

cube_design is excited to advise that for the second time, we have successfully developed and obtained an outline planning permission for a site-wide masterplan for Silverstone Circuits Ltd.
cube_design has worked extensively with the Design Team over the past two years to make this opportunity a reality.
The masterplan, which straddles two local authorities and required extensive negotiation with numerous statutory stakeholders, has considered a phased development for the next 10 - 15 years. It is hoped that the initial phase, incorporating a 4* hotel and two brand centres, will commence within the next six months.

Celebrating International Women's Day in the office...

Planning approval has been received for the refurbishment of St Peter's Primary School, Iford. This phase of development, follows the recently completed Phase 3C building at St Peter's School, Southbourne. Works start on site November 2016.

CPD visit to Stonehenge and the new visitor centre yesterday....

A week ago, we enjoyed a really interesting visit to see Heatherwick's glass houses at the Bombay Sapphire distillery.

Some more new faces, we're delighted to welcome to cube_design: Rachel Brown and Tom Frowde, and a welcome return to Ailsa Campbell following completion of her Part II.

Today we're starting our 'sustainability month': a concerted drive to reduce our environmental impact as an office, by targeting energy use, water use, waste and transport emissions.
We've already put some measures in place but if anyone has any good ideas that have worked in their offices, we'd welcome any input.
