About Dancing Man Brewery

Dedicated to making cask conditioned beers of the finest quality. From fresh & fragrant pale ales to rich & warming stouts. All produced using the best ingredients from around the world.

Dancing Man Brewery Description

Dancing Man Brewery is small brewery in Southampton UK. Our fermenting capacity is currently three barrels so the main chunk of our beer is dispensed to the ale swilling public via the fantastic "Platform Tavern", under who's roof we currently reside. Some of our beer, however does escape to other pubs & beer festivals up and down the country, so look out sleepy towns because you may soon get hop smacked by Dancing Man Brewery.

Our fav place to go with my dog, Vinnie! We both love it there. I personally really like the fact how nice and accommodating everyone to dogs. And to people, of course! ☺️

User

My husband, sister-in-law and I stumbled upon this fantastic venue by accident .. we travelled over from Jersey this morning to watch the Newcastle game() and were looking for a cute independent spot for lunch. We were told it might be full but to check said the lovely bartender downstairs... the waiter upstairs squeezed us in and boy were we happy.. Exceptional service, absolutely Devine food, halibut and roast beef! Thank you

I would highly recommend this spot to anyone near or far... ( booking suggested)

User

Love this pub - beer is the best and owner is really lovely. Particularly recommend Jack O Diamond .

User

Like this pub - great to stand outside when the weather is nice

User

LOVE it! Great ale, amazing food, lovely people, beautiful place and atmosphere. Also - the best gravy I've ever tasted... ever (and I've had a lot of gravy in time so this is a biggie... to me at least!).. so hats off to whoever makes the gravy at DMB - I'd very happily drink a pint of it, so perhaps put it on tap along with the ales!! :)

User

Had a tour yesterday, followed by a tasting session. Would recommend the tour, the chap that did it was brilliant. Can't remember his name now.

User

Great selection of beers. Well positioned, good friendly service. Will go back.

User

Great pub, great food, great beer. Really hard seats.

User

Food is exquisite. Rustic interior is stunning. Big casino and other IPA’s will blow your head off our favourite place to eat and drink in Southampton! Been visiting since opened!

User

Fantastic Birthday Meal with my husband... with an amazing selection of Ales & IPA's ( strongly advise trying Garden Party and Organ Grinder ). I had a lovely glass of Pinôt Gregio ( great selection of white wines). The atmosphere is contagious which adds to any celebration, large or small.

Our starters were perfect Grilled Sardines & Game Terrine ( not too small but perfectly formed)

Sir Loin of Beef was cooked to perfection and I chose what now is my favourite sauce ever! Tequilla and Cracked Black Pepper. My better half had Smokey and the Bandido which he devoured (with my help) All washed down with a sultry Malbec at a great price.

The staff were very attentive and nothing was too much bother and all with smiles.

Big thank you from us for Joe , Mary and Sophia and all the bar staff. See you all again soon.

User

Fabulous wedding venue, very relaxed and rustic theme with tasty food and nice staff. Highly recommend for a function or just a beer/food.

User

Best food I’ve ever had! The beef short rib was out of this world! Partner had the burger topped with short rib and I had the smokey and the bandido. Beautiful place with string lights everywhere. Started with a few drinks, beers were amazing. All staff friendly and accommodating. Managed to get a last minute table on a busy Saturday. Best atmosphere and food in Southampton. Well worth the walk from the train station. Will return!

User

An absolutely amazing place with excellent real ale and really lovely food and out of this world surroundings, I loved it. The old Wool House which used to be the Maritime Museum and at one time used as a prison. My wife's father was involved in strengthening of the roof timbers and structure of the building and design of the beautiful curved staircase during its conversion to a museum.

User

Amazing Ale big thumbs up from me, great friendly bar staff two friendly ladies behind the bar very chatty and helpful, Never got the chance to eat (beer was to nice) but I’ll be eating there next visit.

User

We came for a ladies night out, great food, the waitresses were really helpful and I love the environment, it has a really warm feel to it. Will definitely be back

User

A mixed experience for me. As they make their own ales, it's impossible to make an informed choice with nothing to go on so I asked one of the barmaids what she could tell me about the ales they had 'Go and look at the front of the pumps' was the reply. I was hoping for a slightly more in depth review such as strength, flavours and so on. There was nothing but the name of the ales on the pumps anyway. I asked a different barmaid when I went for a second drink and she was excellent. She told me the range of strength, colours, flavour and so on. This made it so much easier to find a drink I would enjoy. As this is a micro brewery, how hard would it be to write a short description of each drink to aid the customers in their choice? It's always done with wines so why not ales too? All in all this is a lovely building and the drinks I had were really nice.

User

Nice decor and beer was good but had to go outside to use their portaloos because they were busy ! One single gents toilet downstairs with a large queue . There was a private party upstairs so maybe there are more toilets there ? Even so not good enough
