We have been members for 2 years now. A bit pricey but a great place to be. The swimming pool is the best. The outside pool is brilliant especially in summer with the poolside loungers. The outside hot tub is great. The new sauna and steam room is great love the lighting. Myself and my husband use the gym which is really up to date. Myself, hubby and daughter use the pool which is a must for us. The staff are helpful and friendly.

User

Thanks to the manager and his team, especially Gemma who were outstanding today in organising the Sufferfest Knights of Sufferlandria challenge. Great venue, great Wattbike set up and first class support. Would definitely recommend this gym, it is first class. Good luck to the staff who will be u undertaking their own Sufferfest challenge in November!!

User

Southampton Branch. Great Facilities, nice to have a centre with everything under one roof from swimming (including outdoor Poole) to Classes to Racquet Sports. Staff nice and friendly, so many choices in activities. Great tasting food. Highly recommended.

User

Ive rejoined after much encouragement from your Admin staff.I am very impressed with the new layout of the club, the friendly greetings one gets from everyone. The facilities are 2nd to none. With my shift work i anticipate using the club at least 4 times a week

User

I love the centre and facilities just disappointed membership fees have gone up again for 2019 mine by £4.00 a month

User

Hedge end Club something for everyone two huge pools one in door and one out , small kids pool , steam room sauna , classes , yoga , spin , Zumba , also TEN indoor courts and out door courts , the club is renervating at the moment . But the GYM is top quality . Looking forward to the new Bar and Resturant .

User

Great Club, only drawback is the workout to get from the car park to the locker room. :-)

Its not my home Club but I always enjoy a visit, although the fire alarm went off yesterday and we had to evacuate. Luckily I had finished and was on my way out at the time.

User

Being a member at Bromsgrove, I am not frequent at soton, just my 3rd or 4th time if using this site .

Great lay out or gym areas. Lots of space between equipment too if which there is a lot of!

The PTers look like PTers.... they obviously practice what they preach !! Actually acknowledge you too.... something Bromsgrove can learn from !!

Changing facilities spacious too... sauna & steam could be larger, however they are HOT !

User

The feeling is one of inclusion, the staff and coaches promote the positive mental attitude needed to maintain a fitness programe. All in all a great place to be and maintain your wellbeing.

User

I am a member of the newly acquired Hedge End club but wanted to try this one out. I was pleasantly surprised. Lovely big pool and gym area. The only let down was the jacuzzi area - 2 small little pools that's meant to accommodate 7 people. Nope - hubby and I were in it on our own and it would've been very cramped with another 2 never mind another 5 people. Personal space is required 😂😂

User

Best health club I’ve been to in Southampton, price point is reasonable as you’re paying for a lot of skilled, enthusiastic staff which can make a difference to your motivation when you’re trying to improve your fitness. Food was surprisingly okay. Very social and family orientated so can be a bit chaotic during peak times due to its popularity. Overall great club with a friendly atmosphere and a full range of facilities.

User

Air conditioned gym, two pools, two jacuzzis, sauna and steam room. Sadly the humidity in the male changing room during the recent hot weather means that you are wetter in the changing room than in the shower. However the bar/restaurant area is air conditioned so you cool down at leisure.

User

I've been a member since pretty much day one. My two sons and wife have recently also joined. My 12 year old son was booked in for his gym induction this morning. Unfortunately the booking hadn't been saved and the time slot was taken. I understand these things happen and systems don't always save but a response of more than " I've got a client now so sorry" was needed. No offer of help or let me speak to reception was offered. We were just left standing there whilst she did nothing. Luckily the guy on reception was much more helpful and rebooked a new time slot. I know this may seem like a minor whinge but as I work in a customer facing world also it's good to offer help no matter how small the issue may seem.

User

I think is a fantastic health club. The only thing that lets it down is the personal trainers need to interact with people in the gym. I see so many people in the gym using bad techniques, yet the personal trainers don't correct them. Missing a trick in my opinion as I'm sure their are people that could do with some personal training. Doesn't cost anything for staff to say hello and smile once in a while.

User

Today I used 6 facilities at david lloyd. Spinning class ! Great. Digital Scales locked in a room where if I wanted to use them I could be escorted too, chip up machine, grating and noisy, swimming pool, swam into for the second time in a week in the SLOW lane by swimmers using assistance ie

Flippers and leg floats, the cafe bar was great as are the staff in the cafe. Please sort these things out, after spending £500k plus at the club.

User

when are you and the guards going to stop people coming out of the sauna and steam room and going straight into the pool?. unhealthy , disgusting , unhygienic and I do not want to swim in other peoples bodily fluids. reported it but nil action .

Early sunday swim woman comes out of the sauna soaking in secreted sweat and all the dirt that clogs your pores. This includes underarms, scalp, and other external organs and straight into the pool. So when you are swimming and ingest water you are also ingesting prime dna. David Lloyd put up a barrier to feed them into the showers. Going to swim outside in future.

User

after being a member of various David Llyod clubs over last 20 years i wont be a member any more only wanted a 2 months membership break and then they didnt cancel it and being constantly hassled for payments ever since. My wife bought 2 new swimming costumes from Cosco they fell apart using there pool and Jacuzzi within a month. We never used the club for the whole month they can see on there system but still wanted there money... but hey there loss now us and all the family have cancelled memberships and also who ever else i can.

User

Well for what you pay the service for the swimming pools and pool facility leave a lot to be desired. Pool shower out of action for a whole week no sign of fix. Steps to outdoor pool broken for over two months. Broken tiles from ladies changing room to pool not fixed since before Christmas covered by very manky mat. Staff attitude when questioned very much take it or leave it more interested in the gym. Am looking for an alternative good do a lot better .

User

My family have been using David Lloyd for a long time, very sad to see this week that Costa Coffee has been removed from your club room to be replaced by DL coffee, and we have to pay more for the privilege! Having tried one today, next week we will bring a flask!!
