Davidstow has been making cheddar for over 60 years in the Cornish Village from which we take our name. Our cheddar is made with artisanal care – quality ingredients, love and time – to craft what we feel is the ultimate cheddar.

In a bygone era, English Cheddar had an intense yet rounded flavour and was crumbly in texture, peppered with salt crystals, yet today cheddar is quite the opposite. At Davidstow, we think that the taste of this bygone time represents perfection. In our quest to craft the ultimate cheddar, our cheesemakers maintain the principles of traditional cheddar making knowledge combined with technological precision. In our 60 year quest to craft the ultimate cheddar, we have a cheddar that we are very proud of and unparalleled in taste – strong yet well-rounded flavour with a flinty texture that is laced with a crunch of salt crystals.
