World Gin Day Gin! In 2017 The Gin Monkey collaborated with That Boutique-y Gin Company to create the official gin of World Gin Day, using botanicals from all seven continents!
This includes:
... Juniper from Europe Liquorice Root from Africa Cinnamon from Asia Coriander from Australia Angelica Root from North America Lime from South America
So far, so good. But if you can count you’ve realised we’re one short: Antarctica. If you know much about Antarctica you’ll know that this is where things got a little tricky.
Firstly, it’s a flippin long way away, secondly chartering a helicopter there is pretty damn expensive (yes, they looked into it). That’s before you get to the problem that very few things grow there, and whatever does grow is restricted from being removed by the Antarctic Treaty of 1959.
So, we employed a little bit of creative thinking and realised that currents of water can freely leave the continent, so were able to source sea salt harvested from currents of water originating in the Antarctic Ocean – which is added to the gin post-distillation. World:0 World Gin Day Gin:1.
Come and try it at Dolly's....(where it is World Gin Day everyday!)

Wonderful place. Love everything about it. Quirky decor, delicious cakes and croques, and it's so dog friendly too! Our two cocker spaniels, Henry and Stanley, felt right at home. We met gorgeous Hebe the pearl wearing Labrador and dear little Pearl the Springer! And to top it all, we visited yesterday evening and tried the tapas and the gin tasting menu which comes highly recommended - although you might want to go carefully down the stairs afterwards! A gem of a place - go and see for yourself!

User

Staff were so helpful finding highchair, offering to help with the pram and being so accommodating to us all. The food was delicious - the scones were fabulous. Would definitely recommend, and can't wait to go back for a gin visit!

User

Just love Dolly's from the ecliptic setting to 40s style music and Hebe the gorgeous pearl wearing yellow Labrador, this vintage tea/gin room is just a fab place to enjoy a relaxing cup of tea or if you're naughty like me, then replace your afternoon tea with a vicars tea party gin cocktail served in a tea pot and vintage tea cup.... lots of different gins and other cocktails too. Home cakes and other food is also delicious. Dolly's is always a visit every time I'm in Falmouth

User

Exquisite! An absolute gem of a find. The quality and quantity of gins is staggering- a joy to behold for all lovers of the juniper berry. There's something quite decadent about drinking gin from bone China. Can you tell how much I love this place?

User

Dollys is one if my favourite places to eat in Falmouth. Always a warm welcome and great food. Last night we attended a Gin tasting evening, it was a fabulous night. Josh the rep was very knowledgeable and obviously loves what he does his enthusiasm shone through! Well done Dolly. A great evening enjoyed immensely. Excellent value at £10 a ticket!!

A regular haunt of mine.

And with good reason!

The cream tea is excellent and the scones are delicious.

The staff are friendly and knowledgable about their range of gins they have.

Also have the friendly hound Hebe welcoming guests.

Also best customer toilets I've seen in Falmouth. Immaculate.

User

Yeah it was good fun. I loved the dogs mooching about. Good atmosphere with the live piano. Loads of gin to choose from. Will pop back for cake in the day.

User

Second time we've visited Dolly's after the first was such a pleasurable experience. Gins to die for and all served beautifully, cocktails in quirky vintage tea pots and singles are presented to perfection. The only downfall on this visit was Dolly herself, who was working front of house, alongside a far more cheerful and pleasant colleague. Dolly, unfortunately, appeared miserable, sharp and abrupt when dealing with customers, ourselves included. I felt this was partly due to the amount of children in the room at the time. My thoughts being that all these children were with families that were paying large bills at the end of their visit.

My thought overall.......... fantastic place, beautiful setting, the most amazing gins BUT............... Dolly, please, a smile goes a long, long way

User

Lovely venue, quaint crockery and fabulous cocktail in a brilliant cat teapot! Serves every single gin you can think of!
