"Two households, both alike in dignity, In fair Verona, where we lay our scene, From ancient grudge break to new mutiny,... Where civil blood makes civil hands unclean. From forth the fatal loins of these two foes A pair of star-cross'd lovers take their life; Whose misadventured piteous overthrows Do with their death bury their parents' strife."
Narrator: "Sounds complicated, right? Not really. It's actually quite simple.
Do any of you like football? Yes? Well, think of your team's rival. You don't like them, boo their players and want them to lose.
The reason? More often than not, the reason has been lost to the past. You can't quite put your finger on it. But you don't like them anyway.
Now you know how it feels to be a Montague or a Capulet."

1. A full one hour workshop with an experienced professional actor.
2. We encourage your students to speak Shakespeare's words with confidence, both as a group and individually.
... 3. We normalise the language and make it accessible. Did you know that "I want a biscuit and a cup of tea" is a perfect iambic line?
4. Most importantly, we place an emphasis on the characters and the story. We believe that if the children are invested in the story, then the rest will fall into place naturally.
