With all due respect if it wasn't this serious I would be a joke have been to the Restaurant at the Hotel twice and it is like a scene out of Fawlty Towers both times it took over an hour & half to get our meals the second time they came out luke warm

I know you can't blame the Floor Staff but at least can someone take the responsibility of training them to a semi professional standard at least as they are the ones taking the heat

Keep saying sorry and offering you a complimentary drink doesn't solve the problem this is a problem for Senior Management to address I hope this review is acted upon as the rating of this Hotel will suffer greatly

PS the Staff on Reception are the shining light of otherwise a very amateurish operation

We got married at the Hilton a few weeks ago. The day ran perfectly because of the friendly and very well organised staff.

Leading up to the wedding Amy helped us plan the day and did everything she could to help us.

On the day Georgina, Amy and the staff were on point with all the decoration we had given them to be organised, they did it just how we wanted it and ensured the day ran smoothly.

They were smiling for the whole day and family/ friends were saying how friendly and helpful they all were.

The food main wedding breakfast and buffet was amazing! Very well prepared and tasty. They attended to all dietary needs without a fuss.

The venue itself was just perfect and a very reasonable price compared to a lot of other venues we had seen.

We wouldn’t have changed anything about the staff or the venue.

Thank you so much!

User

Very comfortable rooms, food was good and very child friendly considering it's a very "nice" hotel. Breakfast was very good with a good variety and children under 5 are free which again I thought was very good and child friendly. My 2 year old had crudités and cream dip to start followed by what I can only describe as an adults sized omelette and chips. We booked the Peppa Pig break and would return no worries

User

Stayed for 2 nights as part of a Paultons break. The room was very clean and spacious even with the double sofa bed made up for our daughter. Bathroom was also spotless and of a very good size (did get very steamed up during showers and I’m not sure the fan worked?). The breakfast was lovely and varied and quickly replenished when running low. The food menu in the bar is quite limited and on the more expensive side but what we had was nice. Under 5’s eat free so that made up for the higher price. All the staff were very friendly and attentive. We really enjoyed our break and can highly recommend staying here.

User

Recently had my wedding here, it was made to be the easiest process with lots of contact from Angela and her team with nothing to much trouble the rooms were lovely as was all staff I would recommend this place for your wedding

User

Lovely hotel, very clean which is surprising considering there didn't appear to be any bins around lovely clean rooms, great nights sleep. The cookies and fruit on arrival were a huge hit with the kids. Not far from Paultons Park. Peppa pig corner was perfect with colouring in, balloons and a Dvd. Breakfast was lovely and lots of choice.

User

A lovely hotel in a nice secluded setting. Glanced out of my window on arrival to see a fawn grazing on the trees outside. Recent restaurant refurbishment is lovely and makes it a bright welcoming place to dine. Great staff - all very friendly and helpful.

User

Stayed only last night so bang up to date .Room clean & spacious however a few problems : Room not ready on check in but was quickly resolved without prompting with a complimentary drink at the bar most welcome as we were there for my brothers wedding .Then confusion at bar on trying to add drinks onto our room account as according to bar staff our room was not occupied so had the Inconvince of paying by cash !! Said it would be rectified by the time I wanted more drinks but wasn’t !! Once again the situation was saved by your quick thinking barman not only did he allow us a free drink for the problems he went above & beyond by bringing us a bottle of wine to our room so a pat on the back much deserved .Function room & wedding organising, meal etc were spot on as was breakfast delicious & plenty of it along with busy but friendly staff .Would stay again as felt for a busy hotel & numerist events going on they still offered great service so well done Double Tree

User

Decent staff, nice clean room, but not a patch on other Hilton hotels I’ve stayed in. A bit dated but overall a great stay and as always a 5 star breakfast .

User

We stayed here for 2 nights last week as we travelled up to visit Peppa Pig World.

My partner came in to check in while I waited in the car with our daughter. Then when we all walked in together, our daughter and I weren’t acknowledged.

The following morning at breakfast I was less than impressed. We were greeted, and each asked if we would like any tea of coffee. My partner asked for coffee, and I asked for tea. The waiter bought a pot to me and said ‘here is your coffee’ so I assumed it was my partners. After about ten minutes, we had still not received the other pot. So we asked the waitress if we could have some tea please. She just said ‘yeah’ and walked off. When she bought it to us we both said thank you and she didn’t even look at us, just walked away, like as if it was too much effort.

My partner then poured himself a drink, only to realise that the first pot given to us was in fact tea, so we ended up with two pots of tea. I also had a mess on my table mat upon arrival, like a melted lump of chocolate which I didn’t think was very good, plus we had no salt or condiments on our table so we had to get some from another table. The food, however, was excellent.

Once we had finished breakfast, the same waitress who had ignored us earlier was nearby and we both said ‘thank you very much’ to her and she looked at us but didn’t even smile, let alone say anything. I could not believe how rude this was.

As we were walking through the corridor back to our room, we saw a cleaning lady with a big trolley approaching us so we all stood in to let her pass. My partner said ‘morning’ and she didn’t even look at us!

So rude.

That night, after a long day at Peppa Pig world, our daughter was tired and teasy so we decided to order room service. The only problem with this was that we had a completely empty salt shaker on our tray!

The following morning at breakfast, we were greeted by much friendlier staff and were much more impressed.

We also met another cleaning lady who was very friendly, completely opposite to the one we saw on the Friday!

I wish I had made note of the names of the friendly staff as they really do do you credit.

The room itself was nice, however the chair had pen scribbles all over it and the cot our daughter stayed in could do with a good clean.

The warm cookies for guests once they arrive is a nice touch, I was also impressed by the Peppa Pig table laid out on Friday evening with Peppa colouring sheets and balloons for the children.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay but the very rude waitress and cleaner; and the empty salt shaker means I had to mark down.

User

We booked this hotel as a pre-cruise stay which included car parking, breakfast and taxis to the port, check-in was easy and reception staff very friendly and helpful and the warm cookie was a welcome treat after a 3 hour drive a hot chocolate to go with it would have made it even better . Our room was clean and spacious but be warned the beds are uncomfortable and didn't make for a good night's sleep this is why I only gave it a 3 star. The breakfast was good with plenty of choices but it could have been hotter. The taxi service to the port was efficient and picked us up on time, however for our return back after the cruise we waited in the cold for around 20mins. Overall it's good base for a pre-cruise and we would stay again at the right price. New comfortable beds would make a difference as we didn't get much sleep.

User

Stayed with a friend on a dinner , Prosecco, B&B deal which was really good value . I Thought the stay was great. Rooms clean, beds comfortable , the warm cookie on arrival was a nice touch. Staff friendly and helpful. Food excellent both in the evening and at breakfast. It was a bit noisy with a large wedding party in the evening but that wasn’t a problem.

I’d say a 3.5/4 out of 5 rating.

User

I was very much looking forward to staying here for Pepper Pig World deal - very good value indeed. 1) The hotel's first appearances very nice and a lovely welcome from Katrina. 2) Room was nice but beds terribly uncomfortable. 3) bathroom - very modern, tastefully decorated, towels lovely and Crabtree & Evelyn toiletries . However shower screen far to short in width and so water sprays onto the floor which is annoying. 4) glasses in bedroom were not at all clean. Rest of room was clean. 5) Arrived at restaurant for breakfast - no warm greeting in fact no greeting! and certainly no introductions to the breakfast layout. Orange juice was constantly empty - staff seemed quick at restocking everything else but the O.J. 6) House-keeping knocked the room door at 8.45am - really? Are you that desperate to get people out when we are still finishing getting dressed. Rude. You must know when people have checked out! 7) Overall I liked it here but I felt uncomfortable at times almost inferior and I have stayed at much nicer hotels and not felt like that. 8) if you are offering lower priced/value deals to ensure a steady business from all classes of people, you should treat all guests well at all times. We stayed at a Premier Inn for 2 nights before the Hilton and their staff provide excellent, polite and friendly customer service. However, Katrina on Hilton reception was excellent!

User

Went for our 1st Wedding Anniversary, hubby had booked afternoon tea . Lady at reception pointed the way we needed to go and no one was around in the restaurant. Asked lady at bar who showed us to the room . Staff there not very attentive, we had to ask for the sparkling wine . They seemed more interested in the fact we needed to produce the voucher for afternoon tea then anything else . Didn’t even get tea or coffee as they never came back to us . Floor was very unclean , food left on floor around us . Food nice but left feeling very disappointed. Will not be returning

User

I haven’t even stayed yet and having problems. Initially I made my booking which proved to be a chore for the lady making my booking. I now (due to personal circumstances) need to change my booking date. I called and spoke to reception to do this and told this would be done. I get a call back to say reception can’t do this and I will be put through to a different team to do this, after 4 or 5 attempts to put me through I was asked to call back, I pointed out I didn’t know what team I needed to speak to!! They tried to put me through once more and put me through to the restaurant!! I hoping my stay (if the date is changed) will be better than my booking experience.

User

Well we got in our room. No English tea bags only 2 fruit tea bags. We had to pay £5.40 to park in a hotel car park. Rubbish never paid when I have stayed in a hotel before. Breakfast well that was I joke. We had to get our own cups. Then we had to find a waiter to ask for some tea and coffee. He then filled our cups up and walked off. No milk??? On the table and we weren't offered any. We got some from the cereal island. I went to get my breakfast from the buffet. No chef. No plates. No eggs or beans. When I asked a waitress she went into the kitchen but did not return with anything. I waited and waited . No beans came. The bacon was hard and hash browns over cooked. Could not wait any longer, breakfast that I did have was nearly cold . When I get to my table no condiments. Not even salt and pepper. I was hoping to stay in a double tree Hilton in London next month but I'm not sure now

User

We have stayed at this particular hotel three times before but can honestly say that our last visit will be our last! We stayed there on Sunday 27th prior to a cruise we had booked on the 28th. After we had checked in we went the bar for a drink and were told that they had run out of any crisps or nuts etc. My evening meal of chicken curry was cold and tasteless. Upon returning to the bar quite early in the evening we were told that they had run out of the wine I was drinking. After a very unsuccessful evening we then went back to our room to have the worse nights sleep ever! The bed was very hard and uncomfortable and during the night we had to put up with the noise of constant door banging. Breakfast was mediocre and the dining room had not been cleaned or even hoovered from the previous evening. To cap it all when we went out to the car we found that our car had been broken into and all our luggage stolen. The reception staff were next to useless. The police asked us to ask them about the cctv but they said it didn’t work in the dark!! We were obviously very shocked and upset but were not even offered a cup of tea or coffee. Extremely poor customer service and todate we have not even received a courtesy call from the manager. As this is a hotel that is regularly used by cruisers for an overnight stay I will also be sending this review to the fb pages of the cruise liners including P & O, Princess Cruises, Cunard, Celebrity Cruises plus others.

User

Stayed overnight as at hotel for an evening function.

We were not impressed eith the service at all in the lounge bar or function bar. Air con on in February it was freezing in the main bar.

Very few staff and G&T served with no ice or lemon. The drinks were expensive too and we expected good quality.

Beds not comfortable , duvets very thin and room cold on arrival.

Towels yellow in colour looked like they needed s good wash.

Breakfast food was nice but service very poor, again not enough staff on duty.

Not sure we would return to this hotel.

User

It’s a shame I have to leave a bad review, but the hotel clearly don’t feel it’s important to call me back about my stay.

The first room I had was next to the smoking/drinking area at the front of the hotel. The people can see directly into your room whilst they are smoking. The windows don’t close properly so this is the loudest part of the hotel (especially when trying to sleep).

The room they moved me to had a bad damp/musty smell, maybe because the window doesn’t close properly (even after being screwed shut?).

There is also an issue with cleanliness -

Mainly insects, both alive and dead.

Cobwebs, dead spiders, flies and moths don’t really give you confidence in the cleanliness of the hotel.

The bed is not comfortable, the towels are dirty and stained, nobody answers the phone and you don’t receive the benefits you are entitled to as a HH member.

The public areas look fresh and newly refurbished, however the rooms haven’t been brought up to doubletree standards.

Such a shame as this could be a nice hotel. I’m still waiting for a call from the manager (and I checked out 3 days ago)

I’m sure they will reply to this telling me to contact them... but I did and zero response.

Decent staff, nice clean room, but not a patch on other Hilton hotels I’ve stayed in. A bit dated but overall a great stay and as always a 5 star breakfast .
