At Driving Miss Daisy we are often asked “what is the difference between you and a standard taxi service?”. The main differences are that we are all first-aid trained, have positive handling training, are Dementia Friends and have disability awareness. We spend time with our Clients, either in their homes or at their chosen location, offering quality companionship and assistance or simply taking notes in appointments for them. Many Clients are simply lonely or lacking in conf...idence and appreciate travelling with someone who cares. Where necessary we are happy to contact Clients the night before a trip to reassure/remind and check on their requirements. All our vehicles are designed to take wheelchairs, mobility scooters and guide dogs and we also carry aids to assist Clients when getting into our cars but the key point is you don’t have to have a disability to use us, just be someone who appreciates a quality service. But we REALLY are different to a standard transport service. The main differences are that we are all first-aid trained, have positive handling training, are Dementia Friends and have disability awareness.... We spend time with our Clients, either in their homes or at their chosen location, offering quality companionship and assistance or simply taking notes in appointments for them. Many Clients are simply lonely or lacking in confidence and appreciate travelling with someone who cares. Where necessary we are happy to contact Clients the night before a trip to reassure/remind and check on their requirements.
We also do so much more than your every day transport/support services for the older generation? We help students get to college who need assisted transportation, kids to get to and from school and take them to family or after school activities, help clients get to the start of their holiday, take clients out for day trips and excursions, accompany them to the cinema, theatre, restaurants and concerts. We even accompany clients on personalised multi day tours of the UK . And so much more
All our vehicles are designed to take wheelchairs, mobility scooters and guide dogs and we also carry aids to assist Clients when getting into our cars but the key point is you don’t have to have a disability to use us, just be someone who appreciates a quality service.
