The response to the Build-A-Bear ‘Pay Your Age’ Day event at all of Build-A-Bear’s U.K. locations has been overwhelming and unprecedented, including here at McArthurGlen Designer Outlet East Midlands. The crowds have greatly exceeded expectations and as a result the store is no longer able to accept additional guests for this event. We are working closely with Build-a-Bear to assess the situation and appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding.

We went here yesterday for the first time to visit Build a Bear for my daughters birthday. The staff were lovely and made the experience very special for her and her friend. The prices were much better than the non outlet shops and staff very helpful. For that reason alone we would have visited again but we found the whole visit a pleasant one, clean, free parking and a good choice of shops to wander round. We'll worth the two hour drive

User

Impressively calm, clean and tidy environment. Something for everyone, would recommend it to everyone. Picked some bargains from sole traders, gap, beauty outlet and body shop. some brands could improve variety tho. Friendly Staff at body shop, gap and build a bear store, high standards of customer care at yoo kase. Very pleased with price and quality of my phone repair and personalised phone case :)

User

I only live 10 mins away and never realised this place existed until yesterday. I am very impressed how clean and tidy it is, not one bit of litter on the ground and toilets were spotlessly clean. Fantastic range of shops, will visit more often now I know it's there.

User

Hi, we visited on 12th April and found it to be really enjoyable. The shops were good, everyone was very pleasant and helpful. Although it’s not a huge place, there was plenty to look at and we had a bite to eat in Costas. We loved because it wasn’t too crowded and we spent around three hours thereperfect.

User

Fantastic service today my Mum was struggling a little with walking with just her stick and it was very windy which doesn't help, a lovely staff member Angela from Marks and Spencers stopped with my mum whilst i got my mum a wheelchair from customer service, customer service were also excellent we will defo be visiting again, everybody was so friendly and helpful in all the shops xxxx

User

Excellent, Our 1st visit, travelled from Cannock. Really impressed with the range of shops and the discounts offered on what they were selling. Really nice environment, a pleasure to walk around. Had lunch in the 'food hall' who offer a varied choice of meals from different outlets. Will defo visit again....

User

Can't fault this place, I had a lovely day out with my dad, the layout is great and all shops are easily accessible with plenty of benches as you walk around if you need a little rest like my dad occasionally did. Everywhere is spotlessly clean and there are plenty of toilet facilities. Great choice of places to eat and drink with seating indoors and outdoors. We travelled from Leicester and it was super easy to find, straight off junction 28 of M1, will definitely be back

User

I used to go every day and start with a coffee at Thorntons. The staff were amazing. Sadly its now closed. Tried the other coffee shops but as I'm a single pensioner ended up sitting outside in the cold as there are few vacant seats even at 9.30 am. I now only visit if theres something specific I need. Restaurants dont like people just going for coffee especially single people sitting at a table for four when there are no other seats. Was refused entry in one Nottingham place because of this. Have to say the people who do the grounds maintenance are really good. It always looks immaculate

User

I love the outlet but for 3 reasons I am not giving the 5th star - there are no sort of smaller trolleys available. In Ireland they do have and makes it all so easier to shop arround. There should be some special busses to Nottingham at least 3x a day and more on weekends, bank holidays to bring even more people. Who doesn't have a car, never gets there at all. Would be nice a creche for an hour or so for each child simmilar like IKEA does so parents would have more free time to roam arround the shops better. These things would definately bring more people to Outlet and at the end these small improovments would pay off big time.

User

Myself & my husband went to watch the outside cinema on Valentine's Day and were given a 50% off voucher for Harry Ramsden. We went & purchased some fish & chips but we were very disappointed. If I'd had to pay full price they would have gone back. Lukewarm chips, most of which were scraps and we didnt enjoy it at all. The centre itself looked so nice though.

User

My good friend and I went on 14th April it was a lovely day to go there, when I went a few weeks ago with another friend who has a young child I can only say hurrendous, the wind was blowing so much there was tiny hurricanes whipping round ( and yes I know you can’t control the weather ) as my friend was breast feeding all the seats in cafes were full nobody offered to move so we went to customer services and the lady was so kind and let us use the prayer room. Myself I had a son in a wheelchair and if he went there he wouldn’t be able to go in any shops as they are cluttered believe me the pushchair was bad enough. Going back to the 14th it was just enough for me to walk round had to wait at Costa for my friend to get a rough time with the staff 20mins queue, now I couldn’t stand that long can you imagine a wheelchair user, I think not! Not many clothes for the large busted woman either. It doesn’t need an architect to design shops we can do that, the pushchair users, the walking frame users, the wheelchair users, etc.

User

Lovely lady's in the Yankee shop.fab advise that I needed for my candles ...........but down fall was the food in the food court .ie Chinese food .the sweet and sour chicken was disgusting .lumps of batter with no chicken in it and the egg fried rice was poorly made by anyone's standards.the staff was rude and hardly spoke a word

User

I'm a regular visitor as I'm local but over the years seen so many ladies clothes shops dissappear and yet another one gone, Roman. My mum loved it there for cruise wear, holiday wear. We also used to finish our day off with a coffee at Thorntons which has also shut.a few closed too for refurbishments, hope they are going to open some ladies clothes shops and nor just the shops for skinny folk.

User

I went with my husband we haven't been for a few years we are a 40 min drive away..we weren't really sure about the place!.. M&S was like a charity shop I didn't like it at all & so small! The Cadbury shop was quite expensive..we liked Next but again the same as the other reviews not much in larger sizes! We won't be going back for another few years!

User

I am a local and visit regularly from the very beginning. I always used to come as my first option for shopping, no longer. Visited yesterday found that Roman Originals and Thorntons had gone, very sad. I struggle with M and S as it is difficult to see where anything is now. Very glad of some other places still there, but would ask that retailers are reminded of the over size 16 shopper and the need to keep stores accessible and not too cluttered.

User

Haven't been for a while, surprised that the Thorntons coffee shop had gone, struggled to find a low seat for my mother in law who is 85 to sit on in the large eating area she wouldn't have managed climbing on a high seat so had to try and find another coffee shop that had available seating.but otherwise not too bad a day.

User

I'm local and the outlet has been my first choice for all non food shopping for the last few years. Unfortunately many of the designer shops have closed ' Jacques Vert, Roman, and many others. The designer shops that are there are ridiculously expensive - Calvin Klein, Gap, Nike, . Why have average high street stores started to dominate a designer outlet - next, m&s, Cadbury, body shop, Holland and Barrett, the beauty shop (full of unamed products), Yankee candles, the stationers, the book shop - all high street brands of little significance and no cheaper than the high street.

I won't be going there any more.

User

I have just heard the sad news that you have taken back the Thornton’s cafe store? This shop was amazing and the staff were great! This really angers me and you have potentially just removed my only reason to come to your outlet a real shame!

User

Disappointed- not been for best part of a year and noticed the difference. Lovely environment - plenty of parking, clean, visually appealing and helpful staff BUT no longer a place my daughter or I can visit to buy ‘that special outfit’ or holiday clothes. Hardly any womens clothing shops now, unless you’re a size 12 or below and even that would be limited. A good day out but was unable to purchase anything as was required - only candles and chocolate!
