More laparoscopic surgery in action. Much more comfortable neutering and a range of other abdominal procedures are possible.

Anyone getting help with their Christmas decorating?

User

Please keep a look out for Virgil who has gone missing from near Wendan road. Thank you.

A short video showing the basics which are looked for when your pet has an abdominal scan. Normally we are looking in more detail than is shown here, but its an interesting overview.

Here are some interesting Doggy Doo bags - practical dog walking bags with built in bag dispensers. Available from Elizabeth Leighton designs and I believe they can be personalised.

Well that shouldn’t be up there!

Cruciate ligament ruptures are common in medium to large sized dogs. The stifle (knee) joint becomes unstable and can progress to cartilage damage and arthritis. We correct the instability using a technique known as tibial tuberosity advancement. The titanium wedge used is 3D printed!

A young female rabbit found on Greenham Common. Anyone missing a rabbit?

A news item from the Telegraph. ‘Bird brain’ is no insult!

A nasty fracture of the calcaneus (like our heel bone). It’s hard to repair because of the small size and the pull of the Achilles’ tendon on the fragment.

The patient 2 hours after her laparoscopic spay. Comfortable and proud of her wounds.

User

Laparoscopic (keyhole) spay in progress. The nurse commented how smooth the anaesthetic was because of the lack of pain.

Entropion is an uncomfortable condition where the eyelid rolls in and the hairs and lashes rub on the cornea. We correct this with a surgical procedure - and give some neat false eyelashes as well. This cat’s right eye used to look like it’s painful left one before corrective surgery. Hopefully both eyes will soon be comfortable and beautiful.

An update on possible measure owners need to take for pet travel to Europe after March next year.

User

my to cats love going there they are always treated like a family member I've never felt like nothing was to much for them . from the hotsons we really appreciate everything u guys do

User

We've been with Falkland since about 2000 with a variety of different pets and these guys are always professional and do their utmost to provide solutions and care for them all. Very moved recently when one of the vets Fiona Marshall gave us extra time to say goodbye to a treasured pet before they were put to sleep, thank you.

User

We were staying in the area and had to visit Falkland Veterinary Clinic twice. The reception staff and vets were really kind and helpful, thank you.

Totally recommend this vets. This time last year my cat Dave had issues with his leg for a couple of months and ended up having to have his leg amputated. Vet Carl was absolutely amazing with him (and us). Dave was so comfortable going to the vets (which helped as he was there weekly) and he absolutely adored Carl. He recovered very quickly and has no scar what so ever. We couldn't thank this amazing vet surgery enough.

The team at Falkland Vets are amazing, my dog gets such good care from them and when we go we feel like part of the family.

User

The staff here are amazing from the ladies on reception to the vets and the veterinary nurses too! Would not go any where else after my cat Tilly was run over on Friday peter wolley and the nurses have been amazing with her and I have her home making amazing steps each day I can not thank you all enough for getting her home to me and how well you have helped me this weekend and for Carl to offer to come in on his day off to operate if needed just goes to show how much passion and care the staff have for our pets ! Thankyou Falkland vets I would recommend you to anyone with pets !

User

Once again, exceptional. From the vets to the nurses to the receptionists. They really care about the animals. I can't recommend them enough. We have used Falkland for all of our dogs over the years, and they are fab! Wouldn't go anywhere else. Thanks to you all

User

Just excellent! I have complete trust in them and know that my dogs have always been in the best hands with them. Recently I had to have a very elderly dog put to sleep. It was such a devastating decision to be faced with, but having such genuinely caring and understanding vets to support me was such a comfort.

I recently adopted a 6 month old puppy from the Dogs Trust, I've called him Teddy, and he will definitely only ever have the best vets - Falkland!

User

I recommend this practice. I have just had a very good first visit when I was seen at short notice. Poppy is a small conure who is normally feisty with strangers but I was amazed by Carl Gorman's calm, soothing, and caring approach which reassured both me and Poppy so there was no drama! I have never known her be so calm with strangers. Very pleased. Trying to get the little madam to rest and recover is a harder challenge however!

I have used a number of vets in Newbury over the last 20 years and now will not use any other practice. Annabel, Peter Wooley and Peter Carr have shown extreme professionalism, competence and kindness dealing with a couple of emergencies and I cannot fault the care given by the whole practice. They managed the painful process of having a dog put down incredibly sensitively. In addition, Billy the Bull Terrier is thriving (and staying away from dried sweetcorn husks) thanks to Annabel's skill. A lovely bunch of people.

User

I could not recommend them enough, the support and kindness they have shown to me and my husband over the years with our dog Molly has been above and beyond, the service has always been exceptional and we really truly felt they cared and we trusted them completely... The one thing nobody ever wants to experience is losing a pet and it is incredibly painful but we felt so comforted by the support we received from Peter and everyone at the surgery, words cannot express how grateful we are... We have now registered our new puppy with the surgery and wouldn't consider changing, your pets are like family and so deserve only the best care and I feel this surgery offers this.

User

From reception staff to all the vets and vet nurses the whole team are amazing. We have been with this practice for many years and will not be moving. All the vets are great, but a special mention to Peter Carr who always is patient and explains everything to you so that the best treatment for your pets can be given. Keep up the good work...

User

Exceptional! There are no words to describe the care and attention that both owners and pets receive not only from the vets but the receptionists as well. My dog had a problem that he came to me with when I took him on at 3 years old. He had received copious treatments before I joined Falklands. They were the first ones to diagnose the problem and now it is healed. FANTASTIC!!! Couldn't rate them highly enough! Thank you for all you do.

User

Could date this vets higher especially Annabel she’s an amazing human. Took our cat in after odd behaviour to be informed he had a blocked urethra. Annabel kept us informed and phoned us out of hours which was so appreciated. Huge thanks to her and the team who helped jazz. Would highly recommend try animal people. Thanks to you all.

User

Cannot thank the staff enough. My brother had to have his dog put down last week due to her being very poorly and the staff were amazing. I phoned up today to pay some of his bill, and the receptionist even asked how my brother was doing!

User

Can't speak highly enough of the care they take of your pet. I had my dog Max for over 10 years and Carl and the rest of the staff took care of him until sadly I had to have him put to sleep on the 4th November.

User

Beth, our Vet, is wonderful. Genuinely lovely and compassionate lady who was so kind this month when I sadly had to have a much loved pet put down. I was so touched to receive a sympathy card from her in the post to say how sorry she was. She is a credit to Falkland Veterinary Clinic. Thank you for being so kind.
