Good luck to Carol and Mark who wed on Sunday. Xx

Spring freesias, viburnum tinus, pussy willow, lavender and eucalyptus form the spray on this cross. It was made for a lady who had reached the great age of 98, and given by a family who adored her.

Smiles (and conversation) from my firstborn are rare, fleeting and a precious delight. Thomas had his first driving lesson last weekend and I was treated to one when he told me about it. Here he is, just off the easel displaying typical gravity.

This is my younger lad, Oliver. He has as many faults as the rest of us, but Oliver has great courage, which he calls upon occasionally to defend those who need it. I love him to bits. (I may have made him look a little too young, but this is, in essence an accurate drawing of him)

One of the best things about getting older is the gradual increase in friendships that happens over time. This advent wreath is for the former matron of my son's school! Now who'd have thought that I'd have kept in touch with her? But if you know the Mrs B in question, you'd understand.

My neighbour Lucy has either ordered an advent wreath from me, or made her own at my wreath-workshops each year, but this time she asked for a horse's profile! Slightly anxious that his Mohican mane doesn't get blown away...

Row-ends are a simple way of perking up lines of mass-produced stackable chairs.

A good, warming choice for a wedding set on a dank drear Autumn day! Vuvuzela gold roses, with fiery asclepias, ranunculus, euphorbia, rose hips and freesias. Some gypsophila added to unite all with the dress, and leucodendron for depth..

Tim's Buttonhole: Rose Creme de la Creme with Rosehip (somewhat enthusiastically named) 'Amazing Fantasy', and some lovely limey Griselina leaves.

Amy had the idea of her tiny maids holding their flowers like wands, so we decided upon mini Gerbera 'Orange Bison' and euphorbia fulgens.

Three bunches for Amy's adult maids today, at the beautiful Clock Barn in Whitchurch. Quite one of the nicest venues, and well appointed.

Rose hips and two kinds of roses: Vuvuzela Gold, and Creme de la Creme

Aerial view of my stook for the wedding fair today.

My heart always sinks when a bride tells me she wants a shower bouquet, because they mean lots of work last thing, and, in summer, fretting about how the flowers will contend with heat and without water. However this shape is probably the most graceful design to carry. Here I've used the rose Creme de la Creme, with Singapore orchids freesias and asparagus fern.
