Without doubt the best school you can send your child to to learn to swim. In a matter of weeks the arm bands are gone and swimming confidently, diving underwater and loving every second. Tried other schools and they do not come close. Don't hesitate to book your child onto these lessons /courses.

Our two daughters (6 & 8) have been using First Strokes for a number of years now. When they started one was scared of the water and the other couldn't swim at all. My son completed his first crash course and his first term of swimming lessons and is booked in for his second crash course and term of lessons! He is only 2 years old (3 this month) and has mild cerable palsy so this is a great way for him to get his muscles and joints working! He absolutely loves it, the staff are great and very patient with him!

My oldest daughter (now 9) has been swimming with First Strokes since she was 5. She has progressed from a non swimmer who didn’t want to be taught to a confident swimmer earning her 200m badge over the summer. Her teachers have focussed on her as an individual, treated her with patience whilst being firm and ensuring she has learnt 4 strokes with good technique. She has now moved on to swim with a club and can’t wait to learn more. I can not recommend them highly enough. Jane and team you are amazing xx

My boys started at First Strokes in April and both now love swimming. My 9yr old, Lewis had been on a couple of intensive week course through his school but was left dissapointed as still wasn't really able to swim and my 6yr old, Reece was a complete beginner. Jane and Josh have both been fantastic with the boys... and patient! Lewis now has his 20m badge and his technique has vastly improved and Reece just picked up his 10m. They are both looking forward to next term. Thank you so much!!

My Son has been with First Strokes since he was 2 he is 4 next month. He started off in the carer and child class, now in on his own and this week he is attending his intensive swimming course.. He absolutely loves it, classes are small and Jane, Connie and team are amazing with him. My boy has come on leaps and bounds and is much more confident in the water.

I took my 6 year old daughter Freya to an intensive swimming course during half term at Christchurch. At the start of the week, she had armbands and a woggle and by the end of the week she could swim from one side of the pool to the other unaided! We will definitely be doing another intensive course at Easter to continue building her confidence! Highly recommended.

I highly recommend First Strokes Swim School. The staff are friendly and approachable and the classes are small enough for the children to get a lot of individual attention. Following a recommendation from a friend I enrolled my son at Stonar when he was 9. At this point he was very nervous of the water and despite many attempts (including lessons when he was younger) at our local public pool he had made very little progress. In less than a year the brilliant First Strokes staff had increased his confidence and turned him into a swimmer who can now cope confidently in deep water. We're all very happy with this result. Thank you First Strokes!

I cannot praise them enough. My 7 year old son only 3 weeks ago couldn't swim and we were very worried about taking him on our summer holidays to a water park resort. He had group swimming lessons at a different venue last year and didn't benefit from them so I started to use first strokes swim school at The Stonar venue and he has taken to it like a 'duck to water' they has been absolutely fantastic and he is now swimming independently after just 3 weeks! I couldn't be happier.

Highly Recommend. My daughter came for 1:1 lessons before we went on holiday. She really didn’t like the water before but after just a few lessons she was going underwater and swimming the length of the pool. Instructors were lovely and she really enjoyed it.

George absolutely loves his swimming lessons with First Strokes. Josh is a fantastic teacher and George is always smiling and laughing during his lesson, whilst learning skill, technique and life saving skills at the same time- brilliant. It's a lovely calm relaxed atmosphere at Stonar pool and the small class sizes are great. I recommend Jane and her team highly, George can't wait to return after half term!! �

Firstly thankyou Connie for yet another fantastic swim year, Ffions had an amazing time this year and was chuffed to bits with her 25 metres last night and also the relay swim racing. She's come on leaps and bounds since you started teaching her back in 2015, where she wouldn't put her head under water to now constantly being under water.

Also Thank you for picking up Ffions coat last night.

See you next term but hopefully this time you'll be teaching Grace as well.

Fantastic staff. Jane wouldn't give up on my little boy, and he now has lessons with Lewis who he loves. I never thought he'd look forward to his swimming lessons like this.

Connie has been brilliant in teaching my son to swim. And putting up with his cheekiness. He's going to miss teasing Connie. But I feel he needs a deeper pool now. To further his swimming goals.

Both my daughters age 4 and 6 have joined first strokes. My 6yr old was terrified of swimming. Her first week she had a meltdown. At the end of her lesson Jane took time to sit down with her and really encouraged her to give it time and come back next week. My daughter came out of there positive. The following week Sarah her teacher gave her so much trust and confidence it was like a different child. The time Jane took and Sarah’s great support has been amazing. Both my daughters now love going to swimming every week. I would highly recommend first strokes to anyone. Lovely atmosphere and amazing staff.

After years of wasting money on large group sessions at our local leisure centre we booked our daughter into a week of 1:1 swimming lessons with Josh. Josh is a fantastic teacher and actually got our 7 year old swimming after just 1 session. Our daughter has come on leaps and bounds after a second week of 1:1 lessons and we will certainly be sticking with First Strokes Swim School, they are the best and I only wish I had known about them
