Nestling on the edge of the Cotswolds, 15 miles north of Bristol, is the Fairtrade market town of Wotton-under-Edge. In the heart of the high street (Long Street) is the Fish out of Water gallery. Come inside:

The shop space is divided between art and Fairtrade recycled gifts and howeware. The original artwork is sourced locally from a range of artists employing oils, water-colours, pastels, acrylics, egg tempra, multimedia, recycled materials, found objects. Our recycled gifts and homeware come from artisans in many different countries around the world where they are promised a decent living wage for their work through the Fairtrade label. At the same time these gfdts are made with a low impact in a world that throws too much away. Recycling - or upcycling as it is called - today allows these craftspeople to make items that can be enjoyed for years to come.
