We had a lovely evening meal and it was a complete surprise to hear we had won the Burn the Bill. Would highly recommend this friendly pub

User

We came in at lunchtime today to take advantage of your burger offer and received fantastic service from our server. She was friendly and happily chatted to our two boys and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. The food was delicious too....we will be back!!

User

Very good.. I thought this pub was a hardened local booze pub.. far from it... really nice food and somewhere I'd come back to.... if I had a point to make is coming from a back ground of understanding food in a busy restaurant... food staff need to be a bit more on the ball.. poor chief was banging the bell like mad for service to go... a simple retraining from the Manager. But great food and staff.... love the decor..

User

Very friendly staff great food dog friendly we will be returning again to work my way through the menu as so many great choices

User

Thank you so much for the lovely choices on children's meals my grandchild was able to have a safe meal with all his food allergies

User

Perfect meal with attentive staff and a very kind free pudding for my partner on the 50th. We have been many times and have NEVER been disappointed.

User

Lovely location. Friendly staff. Ordered full English breakfast. Was cooked very nice. Tasted great. Poach egg was over done. Like a boiled egg and the sausage was poor quality but went down well as very hungry. Will def go back and try more on the menu

User

I have called this little pub my local for many years and seen it change so much...there was a time we use to bring the horses down and tie them to the gate while we had a cheeky beer.....but although it has been renovated and brought into the 21st century... lucky to say it has kept its character...warm welcome from friendly staff... And still has that lovely open fire to dry your soggy self and dogs off in front of!!! Its still a COUNTRY PUB thank gawd!!!! It now has the best of both...with restaurant dinning and a traditional more relaxed area...fortunately without getting to pricey on the menu!!! good grub and affordable prices with a cosy atmosphere and great garden!!! oh and the beers good too of course!!!

Celebrated a 60th birthday here in November and a 70th birthday last evening. On both visits we were looked after the delightful Nicky. She is warm and welcoming and an asset the the pub. The food was excellent and cooked to perfection. The menu has a wide choice of dishes to cater for all tastes. We like it so much we are going back next weekend for Sunday lunch.

We had heard there were problems over Christmas and decided to judge the pub on our visits not on the sensationalism of the media.

While I feel sorry for the people who had problems on Christmas Day, I have to ask if anyone bothered to listen to the pub's side of the story, probably not. We are all human and sometimes thing do go wrong. But go there and judge for yourself. Personally I am looking forward to the next visit. I can recommend the prossecco sorbet.

Always a warm and friendly welcome from staff, food is delicious and great variety of drinks. Have had several celebration meals here and would definitely recommend!

User

We stopped in on the off chance for lunch there were 4 of us and we all had something different, we all enjoyed our meals very much , service was good, although fisherman’s is local to us we hadn’t been there for a long time and we were pleasantly surprised,

User

Love this pub so pleased it’s my local and my dogs love their fan club behind the bar!

User

Haven’t been here since a very bad experience last year. I did have to chase to make sure our reservation was in place. Once we got there the service was great; the food was tasty and the lovely lady; Nicky even gave my granddaughter a selection box. Pleased to say we will be back.

User

Not the fault of the lovely lady working the bar, but she was left to serve some pretty irate people. Due to the weather there was no milk, but the soda machine was broken too so nothing on tap, no orange juice.... it just got worse. The food was ok, we had the serloin with ribs. Would of been ok apart from the fact it was swimming in sauce, ruined it, everything tasted the same and it made the chips soggy. Three star rating is purely for the lady behind the bar

I live locally to the Fisherman's Rest and like to support it as a venue of choice but our recent visit left me feeling less than impressed. It was the day after all the snow we had; apparently they'd been very busy all day and when we arrived, it had all quietened down. It was nice. It is nice. It's a lovely venue with some good choice beers (I prefer lager but can appreciate the choice that beer drinkers have) but the food... I had the Bourbon Burger (chips & coleslaw) and, simply put, it was cold. All of it was cold. I don't know what the kitchen were doing - they certainly weren't rushed off their feet - but it wasn't good.

Did I complain? No. I didn't want it to be sent back just so Chef (!) could put it in the microwave...

But I won't be going back. Or at least not until I start hearing good things about the food again.

Instead, I'll just go to the Titchfield Mill 200yds down the road..

It's a shame really because until recently, I was quite happy to know we had two very good pubs locally. Now we only have one in my view. The Titchfield Mill.

User

Awful lunch didn’t mind waiting as we were informed of the delay for food but when it did arrive it was just horrible - very disappointing
