Update from Steve I spent a gloriously sunny but chilly day down Flaxlands Fishery. The carp are defiantly starting to wake up and I ended the day with 12 on the bank as well as a couple of nice chub. I fished 2 lines, both using the 30g Drennan pellet feeder. One to the island, the other in the margins. I alternated between micros soaked in tutti oil and tutti Expander mix in the feeders. I used the new mini wafters in the bait band, Also regularly feeding a few 8.5mm tutti feed pellets over the top. Leaving each line out around 20 minutes before recasting. One of 30 carp kev caught on a recent visit. Pellet feeders filled with Tutti flavoured Micros and Wafters accounted for around ten carp. The other 20 plus were caught down the edge on Tutti flavoured expanders with balls of the same micros fed on top.

Update with young Ronnie - I fished Peg 27 down by the tree with a prawn on the hook with the Tutti Frutti Pop-ups on the hair with a bit of your Booster glug and putting a bit of pellets over the top.

Update from the Steve: spent the day down a cold and very windy Flaxlands Fishery. Using the pellet feeder with soaked micros and Tutti Boosted pellets in the bait band resulted in 16 carp on the bank. Finding the carp was the challenge, watching for any signs, and fishing from 3 different swims across the lake throughout the day. Many thanks to Steve Clarke for the help and guidance. Steve

What an amazing fishery. It’s well stocked and cared for by Ruth (who’s breakfast baps are out of this world). Great fighting fish in amazing condition. Great for all levels and ages with something for everyone. The primary methods are pellet feeding either through pellet waggling (in the summer) or a single or double banded pellet on the bomb (in the winter). I’ll be fishing there at least once a week this year.

What a place nearly 50lb of dog roach in 3.5hrs nowhere else in the country is producing roach bags of that quality this time of year.

Went there today and had a great day! First place I fished around the area and would highly recommend! Facilities were good and the place is really well looked after. Ruth was really helpful, thank you! Will be back soon

This season is my first in over 30 years, I asked in the fishing shops and some fellow fishermen where should I go, Flaxlands was recommended. Visited this lovely fishery throughout the summer and have enjoyed every trip. Caught lots of fish and met some great people. It's been a fantastic experience, thank you Ruth for your hospitality. Would recommend this fishery to everyone, young and old.

Really good place to go fishing, two good lakes to choose from, both have great features to them. You get a good choice of fish to target, and there are some excellent specimens of roach, Rudd, bream and tench to try to catch, along with lots of carp both large and smaller. Well maintained grounds, clean on site toilets, parking close by and a nice on site hut where you can buy all kinds of bait and hot drinks and food. Probably the best non match pleasure fishing lakes I've been to in a while. Polite and helpful staff/owners.

My first time at the venue, after being told how good it was from staff at the The Tackle den in south cerney and by hinders in Swindon. I'm looking forward to going back and fish the other lake as I fished the bottom lake today. I managed to get 18 fish in total and one was a good carp.

Me and my partner done a 48hr stint here, 25/08/18 - 27/08/18, it was our 1st time and we absolutely loved it. Made some good friends there. Got some hints and tips looking forward to the next time xxxx

Love fishing this place!! Without a doubt one of the best places for a bite, well kept and well run fishery, took my young boy today for a few hours, he lost interest in coming with me after sitting behind the bite alarms and not getting one, but working minutes of being at flaxlands as usual we were into a few fish, both come home smiling and can't wait to come back! Fantastic place!

Just have to say myself and my partner Alison had a great couple off days including the night fishing on pegs 26 & 27 .

It was Alison's first night session and she enjoyed it immensely but by second night she had managed to catch a few good carp and even kissed one Thanks to watching the big fish off program on TV , she thought it was the thing we fishermen do I haven't laughed so much in a long time.

Must say the weather was on our side and Ruth the owner made us both welcome . Great food delivered to our pegs and the first cup of hot beverages were a godsend in the mornings so thank you very much Ruth .

Ali is already plotting another weekend very soon so it looks like I not only got a partner I love but also a fishing buddy as well now Flatlands

I went to flaxlands today for the first time and I must say, I am incredibly impressed. I will definitely be going back. So polite and helpful, warm food delivered to my swim and I even got to catch my first ever chub. Fished 2 rods on woodland falls, one for carp and one for smaller fish. I caught an absolutely beautiful chunky chub pretty much off the bat on bread fished about 36'' off the bottom, had a couple of skimmers and a couple of roach aswel. Unfortunately I had no carp today but that was more my fault than the swim I was in. Fabulous place with fabulous people. 10/10

I am not a fisherman by any stretch of the imagination but my husband has been fishing flaxlands for a while now and has always come back raving about it so with a few spare hrs today he took us all down there and wow I'm converted!! The fish were flying out and I have to say I really enjoyed myself so did the kids!!

Really clean proper toilets and a great little cafe on site. Will def be coming back!!

I am brand new to fishing along with my 6yr old Jack. This place is absolutely amazing for beginners and the staff are very very helpful. Highly recommend it to anyone. Jack loves the fishing there and it really has him "hooked" pardon the pun.

Had fab day today ... been teaching my 3 kids how too fish .. I'm new too fishing too only been few times before ... and a big thank you to the people on peg 23 late afternoon with all your help and thank you for the gift of fishing bits ....... and thank you to the shop staff for chips and coffee. . Good prices and smiles and kids love the dog and cat lol

Great place to Fish. Great services toilets that are clean. Great to have a bacon roll delivered to your peg and also bait and bits on sale. My boys love it as do my Dad and myself. Good size fish and such a pretty environment. Been 3 times in the last two weeks and will be going lots lots more

Excellent fishing and facilities superb condition fish and a variety of species...fishes best with pellet and corn or imitation corn no need to hammer in tons of loose feed simple banjo feeder or small method will see you bag up all day on tough fighting carp and small tench. Free coffee on arrival is always a winner with me...keep up the good work Ruth and Gordon �

Done a night fish lastnight 27/5/18 and the new pellets that Ruth made were awesome and can't give them a better review because they are awesome as soon as you put them in the water you get the red glow off them and you get a bite straight away straight away

Always a great place to come and fish and always beautifully maintained. The hut is great and the food is great, toilets are always spotless and has hand soap always an added bonus will be back soon.

Absolutely brilliant! Our 6 year old grandson had a fantastic day and we will forever be hearing about his 7 "monster" carps and the 100s of "tiddlers" he caught! Ruth is so welcoming. The shop is fantastic for forgotten or misplaced essentials and bait with great prices. Tea, coffee, cold drinks, ice cream and hot food all available with delivery to your peg and again at fantastic prices. You can absolutely see that Ruth does this because she loves it and that Flaxlands success and reputation is her passion. She really does put her heart and soul into this place and she and her team maintain everything to a high standard. Toilets are clean, no litter at all, beautiful surroundings. Children are very welcomed as are novice and experienced fishers. Advice and wisdom are bestowed on request. I can not recommend Flaxlands enough. A great family day out for passionate young anglers and a lovely quiet fishing spot for singles, couples or groups wanting to catch some great carp. We would recommend Flaxlands to anyone and we will certainly be visiting again when we are next in the area. We won't be allowed not to!! Thankyou so much Ruth and all who make Flaxlands the fantastic location it is.
