A Monday Memory back to when I made my first ever marquee hanging flower ball; the whole weekend I was constantly checking the news to make sure it hadn't fallen (the fixings we had to attach it to were not as secure as I would have liked). The reason it would have made the news is because it was hanging directly over the top of the bride ⁣ ⁣

A few questions for you - because I'm good like that :)
1) On a day like today would you like to be sat next to a window in full sun all day?
2) On a day like today would you like to be without any clean, fresh water for 48 hours?
... 3) On a day like today would you like to be sat next to a heat source of some kind? TV's and computers kick out a massive amount of heat.
4) If you are lucky enough to have a fan running, would you want it to be blowing directly into your face for many hours a day?
If you answer "NO" to just one-of-these questions, then please remember; if you don't like it, your flowers don't like it.
Keep them away from any kind of heat source, or draft; every-other-day (preferably every day in the temps we are getting at the moment) take a sliver from the bottom of their stems and replace them into clean, fresh water - imagine how grateful you would be for a glass of cold, fresh water when you are struggling to keep going in the heat.
On a non-flower related side note - if you walk your dog during the day (from 10am - 6pm - even an hour before and 2 after this is pushing it) during this heat, then you are an arse. If you leave your dog locked in a car for even more than one minute, I hope one day someone does the same to you and walks away indefinitely.

All I can say is that July 19th 1969 must have been a really busy day because yesterday we had more than a dozen orders - between 7 different couples- celebrating their Golden Wedding Anniversaries. I hope they all had a wonderful day (back then, and yesterday)

I think for as long as time itself exists, red roses will always be a very popular choice for any occasion. These were part of a marriage proposal - she said "yes".

This particular corsage was one-of-many made for a prom last week and was attached to a pearl wristband. They can also be attached to a dress/jacket if you prefer not to wear anything on your wrist.

3 of last weeks weddings all had very similar flowers - lots of pink and white roses with plenty of gyp.

One of the wedding bouquets we've made in the past few weeks. Such pretty, summery colours.

Norma Jeane Roses. My favourite of all the white varieties. A large head, long lasting with a delicate scent that is quite-the-delight.

A hand tied bouquet made this morning for a couple celebrating their Golden Wedding Anniversary.

We sent these out today to one of our lovely customers; here's hoping her and her hubby have a very Happy Anniversary

Genuinely saddened to discover today that the shop where I learned all I know has ceased trading. I cannot reiterate enough how important it is for people to use their local shops. That's the 2nd in 2 months; both of which were wonderful shops run by great people that had been trading for many, many decades; they were integral parts of their local community and offered services that were second-to-none.
Once these small shops go they are gone forever thus meaning the consumers choices grow ever smaller.
The saying "Use your shops, or lose your shops" could not be more true.

Yes; I really have used this as the backdrop to the window display - grrrrrrr 😂😂

User

I may have used this colour combination quite-a-bit this morning for todays deliveries and orders. They are just so pretty :)

These cheerful beauties went out on a delivery this morning; I hope they've brought a smile to the recipients face :)

Does it get any more 'summery' than hydrangea, peony and delphinium, especially in shades of pinks and blues? I could have happily kept this one for myself today.

User

I absolutely loved the colours and flowers one of our lovely families chose for this spray to sit atop the casket of their loved one.

I thought I'd been sharing a little too much pink recently, so time to mix-it-up a bit. Also, I thought the blue and cream of this tied bridal bouquet might make us think of cooler days during this heat :)
