Foredowne Boarding Kennels & Cattery

Following the announcement made last night we have come to the decision that in order to protect not only our team but also our customers that our kennels will be closed to non essential customers. Our reception will be closed to the public at all times and our kenneling opening hours are being reduced to 9 am till 11 and then from 3 pm till 4:30 pm. Our phone lines will not be manned out of these hours so if you need to make contact with the kennels out of these hours the be...st way is to email us on info@foredownekennels.co.uk If you are wishing to purchase dog food or collecting an animal that is currently in with us you will still be able to come up to the kennels so long as it is during our new opening hours, however we would ask that you remain in your car and give us a call on our main line.
If you have come to purchase food for your pet we will take note of which items you want and then proceed to take payment for the goods over the phone. Once this is complete we will place the goods on our ramp, after our member of staff is back inside you would then be able to approach to collect your goods.
If you have come to collect your dog once payment has been made we would ask that you pop your lead/harness etc on our ramp and then return to your car leaving us access to where the dog will be when travelling home. Once we can see that you are back in your car we will then bring your dog out and place them in the car. Once our member of staff is then back inside you will be free to exit the car to make any needed adjustments before your journey home.

INTRODUCING ALICE……………….
Alice is an adorable Staffie who is approximately 2-3 years old.
Alice a very sweet and shy girl, she can be quite tense and nervous at first but does gradually warm up to you once she’s spent some time with you (we would suggest more than one visit for her to get to know you).
... Alice doesn’t appear to know any commands but we believe that once she’s grown to trust her new owner she could easily pick up a new trick or two.
Alice appears to be sociable with other dogs; however she has not met any cats whilst here with us. She can be placed in a home where children are 6/7 years +.

INTRODUCING THOMAS……………….
Thomas is a lovely Lurcher who is approximately 2-3 years old.
Thomas is a very sweet and excitable boy, he loves every one he meets and just wants to say hello and try to play with everyone/ thing in site! He can be over the top initially and in his eagerness to explore does pull on the lead to start with but he does calm down.
... Thomas appears to know a few commands such as sit and paw, but as he is such an enthusiastic boy we don’t think it would take much for him to learn some more.
Thomas appears to be sociable with other dogs; however he has not met any cats whilst here with us. He can be placed in a home where children are 5 years +.

INTRODUCING BOCO……………….
BoCo is a lovely Staffie who is approximately 3 years old.
BoCo is a very sweet and loving boy who loves any fuss and attention he can get. He does have a scar down his front right leg so we believe he may have been injured previously. He gets around fine but does occasionally lift or limp slightly on that leg.
... BoCo doesn’t appear to know any commands but we think that with the help of some treats and training he could pick some up.
BoCo appears to be selectively sociable with other dogs when out and about (he prefers females over males); however he would need to be the only dog in the home. BoCo has not met any cats whilst here with us. He can be placed in a home where children are 12 years +.

INTRODUCING MINNIE……………….
Minnie is an adorable Staffie who is approximately 2 years.
Minnie is a very sweet and playful young girl. She loves going out for her walks and being made a fuss of. She gets on well with other dogs, but can be a bit full on with them at times.
... Minnie knows a few commands such as; sit, paw and down. However we do recommend continuing with reward based training. She does tend to pull slightly on the lead, but this will get better with training.
Minnie appears to be sociable with other dogs; however she has not met any cats whilst here with us. She can be placed in a home where children are 6 years +.

INTRODUCING ZEUS……………….
Zeus is an adorable Staffie who is approximately 2 years old.
Zeus is a very sweet and playful young boy. He loves a fuss being made out of him and also loves any opportunity to play with toys or occasionally with other dogs.
... Zeus doesn’t appear to know many commands, however with the continuation of positive, reward based training we’re sure that he will easily pick things up.
Zeus appears to be sociable with other dogs; however he has not met any cats whilst here with us. He can be placed in a home where children are 6 years +.

INTRODUCING TROY……………….
Troy is a lovely Staffie who is approximately 14 years old.
Troy is a complete sweetheart; he’s a very happy boy who loves life. He’s a very affectionate boy who loves a good cuddle and will try to make friends with everyone he meets if it means he has a chance at getting a fuss made out of him.
... Troy doesn’t appear to know very many commands, and is reluctant to carry out the ones he does know. At his age we’re not too fussed about this and would rather he just enjoy himself.
Troy appears to be sociable with other dogs; however he has not met any cats whilst here with us. He can be placed in a home where children are 12 years + as he needs a calm home to retire in.

INTRODUCING EUGENE……………….
Eugene is a sweet Staffie who is approximately 14 years old.
Eugene is a sweet old chap who loves a fuss being made out of him. He definitely doesn’t act his age and can be quite eager when out on his walks and will pull to get to places that he thinks are interesting so he can have a good sniff and exploration.
... Eugene doesn’t appear to know any commands, whether this is because he genuinely doesn’t know them or has decided he’s now of the age that he can do whatever he wants is a mystery. He does enjoy treats but even these have been unsuccessful in our attempt to get him to carry out a command.
Eugene appears to be sociable with other dogs; however he has not met any cats whilst here with us. He can be placed in a home where children are 12 years + as he needs a calm home to retire in.

INTRODUCING STAFFANIE……………….
Staffanie is a sweet Staffie who is approximately 3-4 years old.
Staffanie is a loving, friendly girl who just wants to make friends with every one she meets. She’s a complete foodie and is especially quick to make friends with anyone who has any goodies on them.
... Staffanie doesn’t appear to know many commands but we think with the help of her love for food she could easily pick up some new training. As with all our dogs we do recommend the continuation of training as it helps keep her mentally active and helps strengthen the bond with her new owner.
Staffanie appears to be sociable with other dogs; however she has not met any cats whilst here with us. She can be placed in a home where children are 7 years +.
