Fowlers Motorcycles Description

Fowlers started life way back in 1926 when Frank and Alice Fowler first opened their cycle shop. The Great War had ended only eight years earlier and the General Strike was in full swing. The average wage was £2 a week and a new motorbike would set you back less than £20.

A few months after it was founded, Harold Fowler joined his parents, introducing motorcycles (which were his passion! ) into the business and beginning a family dynasty which continues to this day.

Harold, or Harry as he was known to his peers, was a well-known scrambler (Moto-X rider) and Trials rider in the 1940s and 1950s, with many trophies to his name. A much-respected industry figure, he worked 6 days a week right up to his death in August 2006, aged 94. The dynasty is maintained with Harry’s daughter, Stephanie, who is now joint Managing Director, and his grand-daughter, Sasha, who is Fowlers’ Wholesale & Marketing Manager. “It’s a family business and very much the better for it”, Harry used to say.

Today, the company is a multi-franchise dealership selling, servicing and repairing new and used motorcycles and scooters as well as retailing clothing, helmets, accessories and spare parts. A separate division of the company is a trade-only distribution business, which all adds up to a multi-million pound company - a far cry from the embryo business established more than three-quarters of a century ago.

Although Fowlers is one of the longest established businesses in motorcycling, it is far from rooted in the past. Stephanie says, “Our loyal customers and friendly and knowledgeable staff are Fowlers’ greatest assets, which is why the company invests a huge amount of effort in continuously monitoring and improving customer service and thorough staff training. There is also a keen recognition of the need to keep abreast of the times and take advantage of the latest technologies and trends. "

These philosophies are immediately evident when you visit the spectacular new showroom in Bristol. The cutting edge, dream dealership seems a very fitting way to take Fowlers’ vision to the next generation.

Popped into Fowlers to see the 10 plate Gilera Fuoco they had in stock. The moment I sat on it, I was in love. We chatted with Dominik (Sales Exec) who talked us through Fowlers finance deals and px options. 30 minutes later the Gilera was mine.



We agreed to collect the Gilera on the 20th Feb but I realised it would have to be before 18th due to insurance issues. Dominik was great and arranged for us to collect the Gilera on the 10th instead.



Brilliant Service!



And as Sales Execs go, Dominik was fantastic! There was no hard sale, no pressure just excellent customer service.

Just recently picked up my new ktm duke and from start to finish the service was great , very helpful and genuine , I dealt with Dom Dawes personally but any time I needed help all the staff where great

Just picked up my Superduke GT at the weekend, great service from Dale in the KTM section. No problem with a 2 hour test ride, excellent deal on the new bike & extras, back in 2 weeks for the first service.

Just got home from picking up my GSX S1000. Big thanks to Ty for a brilliant service and getting the bike sorted for me hassle free. Would definitely recommend checking the suzuki range out as I was very impressed as soon as I got on the demo bike!

Having not ridden for a couple of years I went in to Fowlers to get the right bike. I dealt with a chap called Ty. He was very helpful, he helped me through every step of the stage. I can not fault the service and advice that i received.

Had my Honda a year came with a 1 year garentee and the next MOT included. The MOT done and a full bike health check. Staff are always friendly and polite. Fowler’s are great in customer care not just selling you a bike but all the time you own one

I picked up my new CRF1000 AFRICA TWIN today, a massive thank you to JJ for great customer service very happy with the whole process.

And what an amazing Bike.

Unfortunately I have been let down by the service department, the bike was booked in the wrong name amongst other issues there for putting my bike to the back of the list. I dropped the bike off at 08:30 it is now 12:00 the bike hasn't moved and the customer service is beyond poor.

I have bought many bikes from here and can't fault the sales team but I feel I will not be back as the service department are making no effort to improve.

Well Fowlups, what can I say. We came to buy the KTM 390 but sadly the one salesman who was paying attention had to inform us that you’d put the price up by £400 on Thursday. He did phone a manager but he informed us that the price was set, and even though we were ready to buy he didn’t offer any alternative options maybe a used model or ex demo, after all a sale is a sale. No problem though after a quick look online we found the model for sale at the lower price and brand new, collect in the new year. Oh, and I’ll go to Blade in Swindon for service work so you lose all round. Hell of a way to have a sale.

Unfortunately, the most reliable van driver has passed on. Roobarb will be sorely missed , as, even though he was a dog, the targets were met, as well as the ridiculous profit achieving targets expected by the staff .

A dog caught on camera driving a van... who would have guessed ?? Still. Customers were happy, unlike today......

Subject: Weise Pro Air Jacket issue



Hello Fowlers.



I bought a Wiese Pro Air Jacket from your store near Bristol Temple Meads around Mid-January, today was the first day that I used it in the rain and I must say for a well-known named Jacket it is not waterproof. I ended up wet from the front and also both the sleeves, as the jacket is only around four and a half months old is it covered by your warrantees and if so how do I change it please? Ive tried to contact you but no replies
