This week saw people around the world celebrate #InternationalCreditUnionDay and we thought it was a good opportunity to tell you about the NHS Credit Union. They’re an organisation who offer affordable loans and secure savings for thousands of health service employees and their families. Unlike high street banks, they are owned by their members and run solely for their benefit. @NHSCreditUnion representatives will be here at the Golden Jubilee National Hospital next Wednesday to tell staff more about the work they do. As home to Heart and Lung services we’re proud to support #RestartaHeart Day. It's an annual event aimed at teaching vital life-saving cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills to as many people as possible. Across the UK, there are more than 30,000 cardiac arrests outside of hospital every year, but the survival rate is less than 1 in 10. These two inspirational young ladies, Shanna and Melissa, came in to visit us to hand over a donation of £1200 for our National Services Department (NSD) and a further donation of £400 for the British Heart Foundation. Shanna and Melissa helped organise a fundraising night in memory of their mum Pauline Gilmour, a heart failure patient who sadly passed away two years ago. We'd like to express our sincere thanks to Shanna and Melissa for their amazing donations and to everybody who supported them. #grateful

My husband had triple bypass recently and care and attention given by Mr Pathi and his team throughout the process was second to none. We can't thank them enough. Our grateful thanks also to all staff in ICU, HDU and all in Ward 3 East.

User

My Dad's routine Valve replacement op turned into a marathon and what we thought was going to be a weeks stay in hospital has extended to 3 weeks - every single person involved in my Dad's care has been wonderful and we cannot thank you enough for your dedication, your care and warmth not only to my dad but our whole family. It was, i'm told, quite emotional for him as he left to be transferred to our local hospital where he is working on getting his mobility back; he has been singing your praises to everyone, he's only sorry that he didn't get to say goodbye to everyone on 3 East. Once again, thank you all so much

User

My Dad got home today after 6 days in 3 East after a triple bypass turned quadruple...I have never met such a beautiful bunch of people under the one roof. Everyone was so kind to us from the cleaners auxillaries and nurses and surgeon who did the operation. All of this was diagnosed and dealt with for My Dad in the space of 5 weeks and I will always be eternally grateful for the care and love we were shown from start to finish at the Jubilee. ICU were angels....standing over him all night after surgery.....overwhelmed and emotional and will always be thankful x a million for our NHS and the beautiful people who work for it. THANK YOU SO MUCH.XXXXXXX❤❤❤❤

It would hard to overstate just how good this hospital is: it really is a beacon of everything that a hospital should be. In the past four months I have had two cataract removal operations. The results have been extraordinary, removing any requirement for a glasses prescription (I was previously - 6.0 and -6.5) and restoring my vision to unprecedented levels of acuity and vividness. It has been life-changing.

The care I received at the Golden Jubilee hospital was exemplary throughout. What is really impressive about the hospital is that, at every point of contact, your experience as a patient is an excellent one - from the contact teams to the reception desk to the nursing and surgical staff. Unfailing courtesy, helpfulness and kindness go hand in hand with professional excellence. I really cannot thank the staff in the Opthalmology Ward enough for what they did for me and how they treated me as a patient. This really is the hospital you want to be referred to!

User

User

I had an operation here on Friday and to say I was terrified was an understatement the staff were amazing with me and gave me

Lots of reassurance despite being busy doing there jobs, the staff during the night made sure I was pain free and well looked after too!! The only complaint I would have would be the conduct of the woman who brings you menus and breakfast who was rude stormed into the room at 8am and flung a Peace of paper down and said there’s the menu and walked out before i could say anything with no pen or that to fill in n came back to take it away again within about 1 minute then brought me breakfast of items I didn’t like and offered me

No alternatives and left again with the tray!

User

I had a knee replacement and cannot praise the surgeon staff enough. The whole experience was absolutely first class. I am now waiting to have my second knee done.

User

I had a Total Knee replacement on Tuesday 10th July and was completely relaxed as the Staff in the Operating Theatre were having a laugh with me as I told them I was 60 Years married and were saying all sorts of things and we were all having a laugh. Well everyone was so helpful and always look after me just First Class also meals were high standard and were away home on Friday 13th and if I had to fault anything and it is mainly my fault for being deaf the phone in rooms should have Speaker Phone. I didn’t take my hearing aids out and heard all the noises but certainly felt nothing. Thanks goes to Dr John Clarke and to everyone that took care of me in anyway. Thankyou again from Kathleen VINA Pirie.

User
