It’s National Smile Month - an event designed to promote oral health across the UK.
This seems a good time to announce that we are pleased to be able to offer a new service at the Practice.
Two of our experienced nurses, Celia and Katharine are now able to provide Oral Hygiene Instruction, Fluoride Varnish and a range of other services to complement the work our Dentists and Hygienists already do.
... This service is available to all patients of the practice at no additional charge. If you are interested in finding out more, please ask a member of our (smiley) team.
We are working closely with Hywel Dda Dental Services Team and the Welsh Government to ‘transform Dentistry in Wales’, primarily by improving access. Embracing a full-team approach and offering additional services to support good oral health is all part of this broader transformation.

Before, During and After

Thank you to everyone who attended and sent well wishes for our Official Opening Ceremony and lunch party yesterday.
It was a wonderful and very special occasion, and so lovely to welcome around 100 supporters of the practice to celebrate with us. We toasted 5 ½ successful years of Hayden Dental, and our eldest boys cut the ribbon to officially open these amazing new facilities, which we intend to use to their absolute capacity to serve patients from across the three counti...es.
As James articulated on the day, the list of thank yous is long, but thank you to all our patients for patiently bearing with us to get to this point. Completing a project of this size and scope whilst remaining open throughout was no mean feat.
The practice now has 6 state-of-the art surgeries, ready to provide dental care to our cohort of around 7,000 patients. We are part of an exciting NHS pilot scheme ‘Transforming Dentistry In Wales’. This involves employing a more holistic full-team approach and is designed to improve access to NHS Dental Services in the area. This will not change overnight, and our waiting list remains at over 2 years long, but we have tripled the number of NHS patients we care for at the practice in the last 5 years and we are working on ways to continue this improvement in access. A BIG welcome to our newest Dentist, Dr Gemma Wheeler, who recently joined us. Gemma has a wide range of experience having worked as an Army Dentist following her graduation from Cardiff University in 2015.
Gemma has undertaken additional training to further her interest in Facial Aesthetics and offers Botox and Fillers - a new treatment now available to Hayden Dental patients.
A keen triathlete and hockey player, Gemma also loves travel and languages.
