Visited as a party of six to celebrate a birthday. The staff could not have been more helpful and went the extra mile to look after us - this is how customer service should be done! And the food was amazing! Parmo's to die for! We will definitely be back. Thank you! Highly recommended!

He's always welcoming .. knows all the best ales and even promotes turtle friendly straws �

The gluten free southern fried chicken is amazing! Excellent value and a refreshing change to have gluten free freshly prepared food. Also love the fact it's dog friendly

Myself and my husband visited earlier in the week for a cheeky child free few hours! We thought the staff were lovely! The food was gorgeous and the music was class!

My husband has visited a few times but this was my first time there and we will deffo be going back!

First time having a meal in here got the lunch time special parking and it was really nice enjoyed every bit would defiantly come again great value for money only downside is the late was just warm not hot

Came in tonight and ordered cocktails. Me and the hubby both had Bramble cocktails that were brought to our table. Absolutely gorgeous, so much so we had 3 each. Decided on having food. Both had the classic parmo, again superb and chips to die for. Defo think this place gets overlooked coz of Canteen & Cocktails.

Been to the HOS a number of times for food and also for drinks. Always found staff very polite and knowledgeable. The atmosphere is great. A friendly pub in the centre of Norton. Highly recommend.

We went for tea and was a bit dissapointed that all the tables were reserved for quiz people who weren't eating and us being a party of 7 were squashed on tables at the back! We decided to stay for the quiz but couldn't really hear from where we were sat.. . don't know why they quiz master didn't use house speakers to talk through then maybe we could of heard a bit better. I also think that it would be better for the quiz master to mark the first 2 rounds in the break (to prevent people having that break to cheat) then do next rounds! Food was really nice would eat here again but not in a quiz night!

My husband and I went last night for tea ,it was freezing inside ,we ordered our food ,we waited about 30 minutes ,to then be told they had no rice ready ,and was told it would take about 15 minutes to cook some so I agreed to wait ,but 10-15 minutes later we seen somebody come in with a packet of rice ,so we weren't told they didn't have any ,because I would have picked something else ,so nearly an hour for food mine was OK Hubby's steak pie was not nice ,however chips were lovely ,but won't be going back totally disappointed

I'll be honest we went for 6 pm

to see advertised music which apparently had been put back to 7 pm but not changed on the media notifications. Had to leave it was too hot, especially with plastic seats, no aircon or windows open. I propped the front door open on entry. Shame, usually a decent music venue. Admit it was a very hot day but other places coped adequately.

Great pub but last night I was very disappointed when I went to the bar it was only 11.20pm and I asked for a drink and didn't have any left so asked for another sprit and also didn't have any so had to get a cider instead. Also there was no ice left to go

Went on Friday lunchtime, struggled to get in with a wheelchair and crutches and wasn't offered any help as we struggled to moved chairs.

I ordered the carbonara, looked lovely on arrival and was served with garlic bread and side salad. However the pasta was extremely oily, the sauce had curdled because of the amount of oil. (See photos in comments)

I did mention this at the end of the meal and the lady apologised and offered me a free drink which I declined.

Used to love the food here. Very disappointing today. Using very obviously very stale bread. Real shame. Too much choice to bother with This place any more.

Rude and miserable bar staff and after watching everyone around us get served and being continuously ignored we raised this point, rude staff then accused us of being aggressive and refused to serve at all, professional group of people and we will not return, disgusted �
