You know what?! It’s just been one of those days. Completely unexpected, wonderfully spontaneous and filled with many, many giggles. I listened to off the vine with @kaitlynbristowe (I’m a big Kaitlyn guy) and her guest was @arielle - if you’re into podcasts this is a must listen! I have laughed so hard throughout today that I now wheeze with laughter every time something cracks me up which is pretty much hourly!... Ever have one of those days where you get the giggles and even the smallest of things just gets you?! Well hey, that’s me 🙋‍♀️ (I really need a ginger emoji) Have a great weekend everyone!

Fear is your natural reaction to new unknown possibilities. Fear can keep us stuck in place and stop us from becoming, transforming and up levelling. Instead of focusing on the fear focus on the outcome. Focus on what it is that you want and the feelings that you will have. Use your fear as a motivator, run towards it, embrace it and see just how good you feel once it’s done. Don’t think that fear always appears just to keep you safe, sometimes it tries to keep you stuck.

2 months of marriage with this one ♥️ How lucky am I to feel so connected to another soul. To have someone that truly sees who I am and loves that. Thank you Mr Andrew for making me the happiest girl in the world ♥️

Yeah Joseph Pilates knew what was up! We look for the outside to fix us all the time. We’re bombarded with diet adverts, slimming groups, weight consultants, slimming vests. How can we not try it out? Surely it’s better to spend £200 on something and it work then not try at all?... Yeah that’s what these companies are relying on.... They don’t want you to know that you have the tools you need to be the happiest and healthiest version of you. They don’t want you to know that you don’t need to spend endless amounts of money over and over again. They REALLY don’t want you to know that having to do a diet more than once means that DIETS DON’T WORK. They want you to think that the reason you haven’t kept the weight off is your fault!! I want you to KNOW that it isn’t. The only reason that it’s your fault is because it’s their fault you are spending money on slimming world, weightwatchers and companies that rely on £85+% of their profits bring from REPEAT members. Do me a favour. Spend that money on experiences and loving your life instead of funding the endless diet industry!

Sunday’s are made for days like these. Morning classes with some amazing clients. News that one of my pregnancy clients has had their little girl! Congratulations! Then I spent the afternoon helping my niece raise money for the Cheltenham animal shelter @shelter_life - she’s only 10 years old and arranged a whole 2 day fete for an amazing cause! All topped off with an amazing roast courtesy of my incredible husband.... How are you spending your Sunday?!

Some people may look at this and think....yes Emily, yes it is sometimes. But why is it that we feel this way? A couple of hundred years ago it was fashionable to be fat. With food scarce only the wealthy were able to eat enough to put weight on. To be fat was a sign that you were rich and paintings of this era show beautiful curvaceous women lounging and being adored by men. When food became more readily available and the poor started to own their own curves the rich no long...er stood out. Fat became a physical representation of the concepts of gluttony, temptation and indulgence which were all sinful. It didn’t take long for adverts to appear in newspapers selling diet pills that promised you could lose 5 pounds overnight, slimming socks and tonics to banish the fat! Over the years the food industry has made billions of pounds by investing in the diet industry. Helping to promote the image of “thinness” and covering the tv with adverts telling you just how much better Jayne feels now she’s lost 5 pounds- and you can too by signing up to this slimming plan that consists of 2 meals of your day being just a bunch of chemical powder...but don’t worry it’s clinically proven to be effective (by trials funded by the dieting corporations) We have been consumed by the aesthetic of our bodies, so much so that we take our eyes off the real prize: living our best life. Shouldn’t we be more worried about being unfulfilled? Being unhappy? Playing small and never living up to our full potential? Are all of these things worth having for the sake of being skinny? Is it worth risking your mental health for just to lose and gain the same 10 pounds over and over again? If diets really did work then why have you ever been on more than one? Surely health is more important than weight? Surely being able to run and jump and dance is something we should be celebrating no matter what shape or size? When we die do our gravestones read our last recorded weight or do they usually say “parent/friend/love”? So I ask you again, is fat really the worst thing you can be?

Sunday morning vibes 😂 Don’t tell me you read that last bit without singing the words in your head! I remember wonderwall was always the first song that anyone learnt to play on the guitar. One night my friends Troy and Tom tried to teach me after a few drinks. I nailed it, thought I was guitar goddess supreme and would become a guitar master. I woke up the next morning and remembered none of the chords and my fingers no longer strummed effortlessly but instead just twanged a...bout like a three year old on a sugar high. Did it phase me? No! Every time I sat drinking with my friends I was convinced that I could play wonderwall like a Gallagher. I’m not entirely sure why I’m sharing this, it just makes me laugh every time I think back to it. The way that I absolutely did not care about making mistakes, the confidence I had and the passion that was ignited. Never lose that passion. It lights us up inside. Dream. Hope. Open yourself up to new ways. Make mistakes, learn from them, then make more. You’ve only got one chance in this particular life.
Did I ever learn to play wonderwall properly? That would be a no. 😂

The face you pull when you’re 50% excited 20% nervous 20% happy and 10% ready to pee your pants! Pinch me is this real?! I just finished up my guest spot on the incredible @sandra.dawes podcast “Embrace Your Destiny”. It’s weird as I never used to get nervous before going on stage, or standing in front of people talking and even making a fool of myself in front of people doesn’t bother me! But this...this was something different.... We sat down and chatted, i shared my story, the lessons I’ve learnt and the advice that I’d give to anyone going through something similar. I am still buzzing and on cloud nine! Thank you so much Sandra for this opportunity! I can’t wait to share it with you all!!

The meal plan Emily has done for me is amazing and I feel fantastic. I've lost weight and have so much more energy and the recipes are so yummy I'm loving them. I would recommend this meal plan to anyone, you've got to try it, I feel great!

The best (in my opinion) Pilates tutor around. Emily is knowledgeable, patient (not to mention bendy )and uses this to help you perform to your best. I have loved my sessions with her and cannot recommend it enough. It has been a wonderful start to my Pilates education. Look forward to it continuing.

User

Since starting Pilates classes with Emily, I have improved my flexibility and can feel my core tightening up as well. Emily ' s classes are fun and she provides different levels of each exercise so you can really push yourself if you so want. I would recommend her classes to anyone wanting to try Pilates out.

User

I was a complete novice and had never even tried Pilates, I have now had 4 classes with Emily on her beginners course at the studio in Hatherly and can't rate the course or Emily enough. She is a fantastic teacher and the course is brilliant- would recommend to anyone!

User

I started pregnancy Pilates at around 17 weeks pregnant and have had a weekly session each week. The workouts are always tailored to what I need each week, depending on any new aches and to accommodate my growing bump! Emily is professional, friendly and knowledgeable and I always feel encouraged to push myself. Highly recommended, especially in pregnancy, I’m sure it is what has kept me so mobile as I have got bigger and more uncomfortable! 30 weeks now and still working 12 hour shifts on my feet with hardly any aches and pains- I put it down to the Pilates keeping me strong!

User

I started pilates with Emily in September. Very nervous having never tried pilates before and I wasn't sure I would be able to do it. From my very first session I loved it and have had a weekly lesson ever since. Emily is a wonderful teacher who puts you at ease and talks you through each step with encouragement! It gives me some much needed "me time"... and when I can't make it because life takes over there are online workouts to follow! Thank you Emily!

User

I loved my first session with Emily, she is very professional, and knowledgeable, and accommodating to all abilities. I felt I could go at my own pace and came away feeling relaxed and rejuvenated, although still having worked out, especially those core muscles. Well done Emily you're a fabulous instructor and can tell you really enjoy teaching it, I will be back when my busy work schedule allows me... :D

User

I love my weekly sessions on the mat with Emily and only wish I could go more often. Emily's style of teaching, fab studio environment and being part of a small class all really work for me. I would have no hesitation in recommending Emily and her classes to anyone.

User

I love going to Emily's classes, the small numbers, the relaxed atmosphere and the personal touch are what makes it special for me. I always come away from a class feeling so much better. Literally anyone could come to a class with Emily it doesn't matter what level you are at, she will teach according to your needs.

User

I had never tried pilates before, but am now nearly finishing my second 5 week beginners course with Emily in her studio in Hatherley. THe classes and the support Emily gives are great. I would highly recommend getting involved. Love it!

User

I am completely loving the classes with Emily, I love the fact that there are only 4 of us in the class which means we get individual attention. She also gives us great recipes - what's not to love. I highly recommend her.

User

Good workout with clear instructions. Can easily be used to compliment other training or as a base for improving general fitness.

User

Emily's classes are relaxed, fun, yet incredibly professional and intricately planned. I have been enjoying Pilates with Emily for 10 months and no class is the same. I always leave feeling relaxed yet energised. I'm not sure how she does it! Regardless of age, size, or fitness level, Emily makes everyone feel comfortable and confident on the mat. If you are looking for a personal and expert approach to fitness in a tranquil and peaceful setting, then these classes are for you.

User

Emily is amazing. A total novice, recovering from illness, I signed up to Pilates frankly cynical about the benefits it could bring. I’ve never looked back. Emily’s relaxed and motivational approach to teaching has made sessions with her an essential part of my week! Roll on 2018!!

User

Couldn't recommend the lovely Emily enough; having started as a beginner before Christmas (literally knowing nothing about Pilates, and having NO faith that I could ever be good at it) I can now do way more than I ever thought was possible for me and am LOVING my weekly sessions. Plus it's just such a lovely way to relax after work whilst getting fit and having a catch up with friends! x
