Morning everyone, if you have a keysafe outside your property, please be vigilant as some residents have had theres smashed off the wall in attempts to the get the keys to your home. Fortunately there was no keys left the keysafe on these occasions.

Worldwide every two minutes a child dies from Malaria.
Yet, it is preventable and treatable costing less than £1 for lifesaving medicine.
The Phoenix Bar is working in partnership with Rentokil Initial around the world. Two members of the Rentokil Initial staff will attempt to play for 24hrs non stop Pool/8 Ball.
... By supporting the Poolathon you’ll be helping us to protect millions of children and their families from Malaria, saving lives and building better futures.
We are asking you, members of the Thornhill Community to come along and support them, also by taking in the Poolathon yourselves.
Starting at 12 noon on the 29th September and ending at 12 noon on Sunday 30th all monies raised will towards the Malaria No More charity.
Come along, have a game of pool any time during the 24 hours, other activities include Hawk fights and photographs, try the UK Bushtucker Trial at the Pestaurant or just enjoy and hot dog or burger.

John Smiths Smooth has arrived at the Phoenix Bar

The Phoenix Bar & Café is here solely for the benefit of the local community, by this we mean, the small profit we do make is used to deliver community projects such as the Motiv8 Soccer School, we discount the cost of Soccer School for local children to just £5 a day, normally it would be £15 per day.
We also use some of the profit to help support community groups local such as the Medwall Court OAP Club who have weekly support from our Community Co-ordinator, he also suppor...ts the Thornhill Community Association at their drop in, 3 times a week, without our support these groups probably disappear.
Some of the money you spend we use to offer free and subsidised rents at the Hightown and Hinkler Centres, The Saturday Morning which receives a huge rent discount from us, so children have somewhere to go play and have fun on Saturday mornings.
We also let the Thornhill Community Library use the Hinkler for free (before the council used to pay for the space used) without the volunteers at the library and Plus You Ltd gifting the free space, we doubt there would be a library in Thornhill anymore.
The money used to pay for the Children Christmas Grotto last year came from the money you spent in the café and bar, every child who came long received a free gift. When and where we can we like to employ local people to work in the café and bar, so your money helps us to pay the wages of the local people we employ. Local jobs for local people so to speak.
These are just some of the things we do with money you spend in the Phoenix Bar & Café.
We are hoping to increase the opening hours of the bar in the near future, but to do this WE NEED THE LOCAL COMMUNITY to support us, If you fancy popping in to us, why not bring the family along, children are welcome in the bar until 9pm.
