**Call out 22/06/2019 13:29** HM Coastguard Herne Bay were tasked by Dover CGOC to a vessel drifting away from its moorings. On arrival vessel was located and was found to be drifting but soon appeared to gain control. Officers watched the vessel to make sure it and the occupants on board were safe and no further issues arose. As this was the case and the vessel was making good headway all Coastguard assets were stood down and returned to station.

Officers from HM Coastguard Herne Bay have been at an event today hosted by Herne bay juniors school. It was lovely to have been invited along by the school and we had a great day showing the children all the equipment we carry on the CRV, talking about our roles and offering safety advice to them for when they are at the coast. We had a throw line competition where we saw if the kids could get a line to our casualty, all that took part did really well and we had a mock demonstration of what we do in a mud rescue situation. We have posted some pictures below of our day.

**Call out 20/06/2019 17:57** HM Coastguard Herne Bay were tasked by Dover CGOC to a vessel aground off Tankerton. On arrival vessel was located and was found to be safe on a mooring bouy. False alarm with good intent. Team stood down and returned to station.

**Call out 12/06/2019 23:34** HM Coastguard Herne Bay along with HM Coastguard Sheppey were tasked by UK Coastguard to assist Kent Fire and Rescue to an incident in Faversham. In a coastal emergency dial 999 and ask for the coastguard.

**Call out 10/06/2019 18:18** HM Coastguard Herne Bay were tasked by UK Coastguard to reports of a vessel in distress in Faversham creek. The UK Coastguard also requested the attendance HM Coastguard Sheppey and RNLI Whitstable. RNLI Whitstable were first on scene to the vessel and established that it had gone aground but managed to place it under tow and take the vessel into Oare creek and berth it. Two Coastguard rescue officers went to the scene at Faversham creek but as ...the vessel was now safely berthed all Coastguard assists were stood down. When at sea we would always recommend carrying a means of communication with you whether that be a mobile device or VHF radio so that you can call for help if you get into difficulties. Coastguard officers are always ready to help people in their time of need, but to maintain our high standards this weekend we have been undertaking intense training with our flank teams, training in mud rescue techniques. Four HM Coastguard officers from Herne Bay have been qualified as mud operators and two officers went onto become mud technicians. Very well done to all the team who worked hard this weekend to get qualified.

**Call out 05/06/2019 18:03** HM Coastguard Herne Bay were tasked by UK Coastguard after being requested to attend by Kent Fire and Rescue Service, to a person stuck in the mud in the Faversham area. The UK Coastguard also requested the attendance of HM Coastguard Medway and HM Coastguard Sheppey. Once on scene Kent Fire and Rescue Service had deployed their rescue team into the mud and were in the process of removing the person from the mud. Once free from the mud the perso...n was medically assessed and found to be well. Due to this all Coastguard assists were stood down and returned to stations. **Call out 02/06/2019 18:38** HM Coastguard Herne Bay were tasked by UK Coastguard along with Coastguard helicopter Rescue 163 and RNLI Whitstable to an inflatable being blown out to sea with persons on board. Once on scene we located the inflatable and keep a watch on them whilst the helicopter took a closer look. Once they were happy the person was not in distress, coastguard rescue officers meet the person on the beach and gave advice regarding taking an inflatable out to... sea and future precautions to take. **Call out 02/06/2019 11:45** HM Coastguard Herne Bay were tasked by UK Coastguard to a kayaker on the beach feeling unwell. Once on scene we located the person with help from concerned members of the public and gave medical advice. As all was well with the person, the team were stood down and returned to station. **Call out 26/05/2019 06:11** HM Coastguard Herne Bay were tasked by UK Coastguard along with HM Coastguard Margate to assist Kent Police to a male threatening to enter the water. After a short period of time the male was located. Both teams stood down and returned to their stations.
